Lorraine, sorry to hear about your hand.  This weather has to break before we set a date.  I don't want anyone trying to get somewhere and get into an accident.

yvette, sorry to hear about your son.  Praying for peace for you and him.

Dunesmom and Ruth - have a great day off and probably for the next 2 days.

Marianne - enjoy Katie being home.  There's never enough time.  Thank her for her service.  Congrats for Thomas competing with all those big schools.  That's not bad.

Colleen, looking forward to a GR meetup. We can save Lansing for April when the weather's better. Maybe I can get yvette to ride with me. I hurt my hand shoveling a couple weeks ago and it still smarts. Guess we both better lay off the shoveling.
Marianne, Hopefully the weather doesn't keep you all from having fun while Katie is home.
Thanks for the birthday greetings.

I hate snow.  Just thought I'd put that out there and get it off my chest!  And don't get me started on the cold!  It's going to get pretty nasty in the next couple of days.  Kids are going to be in school until July if this keeps up - sorry Ruth!

The quilt is being made for my hometown's Foundation fundraiser.  The $$ made from the sale of this quilt is earmarked for our family's beautification fund for the city to  use to buy new plants & scrubs each year.  I will let you all know how much it went for.  I hope the weather cooperates so I can go and watch the auction.

I hurt my back shoveling yesterday, so no shoveling for me today.  The husband and daughter will have to do it without me.  Oh darn!

Good morning everyone!!!

Yup more snow, but it is Michigan! This is what I remember when I was younger, lots of drifting and LOTS of snow!!!!

Colleen, beautiful quilt!!! What is the fundraiser for?

Welcome all new N4Ms!!!! It is a journey and we are all on diff parts of it. Some hear a lot from their sailors, some do not. We acknowledge your sailors successes and we empathize when there are painful times.

I would love to get tog on this side (west) of the state, but not the first full weekend in Feb. I like Golden Corral on Alpine. Ladies can come when they can and go when they must. They will give you a room (at least they used to) so we can chat as long as we want. Fri or Sat lunch, my Sundays are full.

Both my sons who live home are out shoveling. That is one good thing about the snow....they have winter jobs...and the pay is good.

Happy Birthday Lorraine!

Have a blessed day!!!

Colleen - your quilt is spectacular!!! Just wonderful!  You do beautiful work!

Happy Birthday Lorraine!

Just got home from the Observerland wrestling tournament.  Thomas was seeded 4th in his weight class, but took 4th.  Not bad for a Division 4 school in an all Division 1 competition (15 Div 1 schools and ours at Div 4).  Katie is asking 'why is MI so cold?'  She has picked the coldest week to be home!

The weather is definitely a factor for where we might meet.  I'm not opposed to Lansing.  We might have to have 2 plans in case the weather doesn't cooperate.  Or just have 2 different dates to see who might want to do both.

Colleen, you are so talented.  You do great work.  Good luck with the auction, how exciting for you.

Lorraine, Happy Birthday.

I would love to get together and meet everyone.  I am from the east side of the state.  I will pass this time just because of weather and having to drive so far.  Maybe once the weather gets better.  I don't mind driving far when the weather is more predictable. Stay warm.

I'm not trying to discourage something in GR, just thinking about another possible meet up in lansing.
Comment by Lorraine on January 25, 2014 at 3:26pm
I'll come if I can, weather permitting. How far is Lansing for the Grand Rapids folks? There are plenty of places on Saginaw.
Comment by Colleen on January 25, 2014 at 2:45pm

Happy Birthday Lorraine!

OK whoever wants to get together - Dunesmom, Cathie & I have been talking that's it's time to try - weather permitting.  Who would like to get together on the west side of the state?  Sat./Sun.?  Where?
