Hey Gretchen, she could be a Sonar Tech. If so you may want to join the STG group on this site. Alot of great ST moms in there, they can answer questions for you.

Hi Ladies, some of us have been around here long enough to remember the promotion that Build-A-Sign ran that offered a FREE banner for your sailor. They provided 10,000 of them for just the cost of shipping ($10). We were lucky to get one (maybe someday I'll get to use it!!!) but I just found out in honor of Veteran's Day they are providing 20,000 banners just for the cost of shipping. This are nicely done and can be reused over and over again depending on what message you have put on them. If you would like one, I would encourage you to order them soon as they will go quickly.

Here's the info for you...
Go to www.buildasign.com/troops and order a free banner. Excellent quality, shipping charges were about $10. I believe on their website they have them priced at $65, I should our banner to a sign maker and he said locally they are charging $100 for that size banner.

Hi everyone, my name is Cathie and I live in the Grand Rapids area. My son, Troy, has been in the Navy 4 1/2 yrs. He is aircrew and is currently stationed in TX. He recently returned from his second deployment and was able to come home on leave for a couple of weeks. I am looking forward to learning my way around this site and talking with other MI moms.

Hi all, Another group that I just join is tHE BLUE STAR MOTHERS. There is a chapter in St Clair that cover most of the five eastern counties, but I am sure there are other groups in the state. It is for moms of all the services and if you google it you will get the web site. They are chartered by congress and it is very interesting. We meet the first Tuesday of the month, next meeting is Dec 2nd, at the American Legion hall in St Clair at 6pm. Thats just south of Port Huron.
Jackie my son Rob is in Gronton now studing to be a submariner. Waht job does Erik have, what boat? Rob plans on being a missle tech.

Hi Mikal, Welcome. My son Robert graduated from Yale last May, we live just down the road in Emmett. If I can be of any supprot let me know. Robert Graduated BC in October and is now in Groton, CT for BESS training for subs. If all goes well he will be a MT(missel tech) on a boomer sub in about a yr or so. What grade is Tysin in? Robert says he is haveing a great time, BESS and A school seem to be like college as they have more freedom then in BC. What does your son want to do in the Navy? You'll love this site all the moms are really helpful and supportive. If you have any questions or concerns just post it someone will know the answer. Welcome.

Katie did everything pretty much on her own. She took charge of everything. Once she graduated in June (Luthern High Westland), she spent the summer with her big sis up in Saulte Ste Marie, where Alicia is going to nursing school at LSSU. They worked together and lived together in an apartment. This was a growing experience as well. Every 2nd week of the month she would fly down for the required Wednesday visits. She returned home just after the big Machinac Bridge Walk. She joined a gym, tried to work on all the PT training for the tests before leaving for BC. Visited her friends at college, family, etc. Katie didn't let any negative remarks from family (I come from a family of 9 children) or friends discourage. Katie believed in herself and her Dad and I supported her, as well as her sister and brothers. How can you not support your child when they choose to serve their country and others. God be praised that they want to do something wonderful with their life!
