I will try to attend tysmom if you find a place to meet. I miss the activity we had in 2015-2016 on this page. But to anyone who just found this page, there is some good information in old posts, plus general groups on Navy for Moms contains information that may answer questions you have. Some of us have turned to Facebook and are on the Navy Moms in Michigan page. It's a good idea to click near this discussion area to "follow" so that if a meet up is scheduled, you will get an email reminder to check back here. That is how I stay up with new posts here. My son has re-upped for a third time. He's a Navy nuke sailor, married with two children, and on the east coast. By the time this stint is up he will have 11 years - I think we're looking at a possibility he will be in until retirement and that's fine with me. They're happy and enjoy the area they're in. Welcome, Laura. Hope we get to meet!

Hi all, This group was active several years ago, but our lives all change. Would anyone be interested in a get together in Grand Rapids? Will make one right off a highway so you do not get lost.

We can share about our sailors the whole time and tell our stories more than once because no one will mind...we have all been there,

Let me know!!!

Welcome Laura!  My son is a Seabee and is stationed in Washington.  Hard to believe it has been 10 years!  Its a wild ride as a Navy mom!  Enjoy every minute.

Welcome Laura!

My daughter was previously on the carrier...GHWBush, but she is currently on shore duty in Maryland.  She is a DC.

Hi Laura, I have not been active with this group.  What city do you live in?  My son is finishing up Nuclear Power School in Goose Creek, SC.  He has about one year before is assigned anywhere.  He will be going to New York soon to finish up with Prototype school.

Hi all!  I am new to this site!  My daughter is assigned to the USS Gerald R. Ford and is a Gunners Mate.  Anyone else have a sailor aboard the Ford?

Thanks for the update, Colleen. Your son must like the sea to continue in the Mariner industry. Happy for your daughter and glad you got to catch up with Cathie.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hi Everyone!  Yes Lorraine, I'm still out there.  My son did get out after 7 years.  He is going to be a Merchant Mariner.  He is in Baltimore going to school and is going to take the exam to get his license to be on the open waters.  He was been accepted to a Maritime Academy to get his Masters degree in the Mariner industry.  Our daughter competed in the Miss TN USA pageant.  She placed in the top 15.  That was exciting.  I saw Cathie the other day.  We reminisced about all the times we all got together.  I miss you guys too.
