Ah yes, "the box", seems like forever ago(5yrs). That made the Navy real! But what an adventure you will have!!!. It is a roller coaster ride!!! But I never dreamed our family would go to Hawaii multiple times...his adventure is your adventure!!!!
Welcome...we do our best to answer questions and you will have a lot. Make sure you join his PIR group, they will have a lot of info for you.
We're not keeping up like we used to and I do miss the news flying back and forth. Hubby is still functioning and we're finally done with so many doctor appointments and evaluations. He has Lewy Body demential. We decided to add CBD oil (from Hemp) to his regimen and got dosing help at our local holistic center. I noticed an improvement in his ability to stay active and not just be dozing off numerous times a day. Yesterday he noticed his hand wasn't tremoring so we're keeping an eye on possible further improvements. I hope he stays well enough for us to enjoy Myrtle Beach in January. It is taking a lot of planning to make it happen but I'm determined that we not just sit around all winter. I have to be back in February/March to help a local tax lady with returns. The kids did not have to move to Maine and at this time, our sailor is awaiting new orders. They may get to join us in MB for part of the month and that would be fantastic! I am missing the grandkids now that I can't get away as easily. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and that many of you get to see your sailors. Take care. Hugs to all of you. Colleen, are you still out there? Did your son retire from the Navy?
Me either. Thank goodness for Skype!
Haven't been on in awhile. I hope all is well with everyone. Doesn't look like I get to see my sailor again this holiday. Trying to stay positive.
Looks like the kids will be moving back to Maine this fall for another dry dock experience. Good thing they like the area :-) And I do too - bring on the lobster! Little Ari is just over 1 1/2 years old and I don't see her or her soon to be 8 year old brother enough. Sure miss those kids. Hope everyone has had a good summer. Hubby and I hit a bump in the road with his sudden onset dementia but medication is helping with normal functioning for now.
Hi everyone. It's been a long time since I've been on here. Hope all is well with everyone. We just returned from the Recruiter's office with our daughter. Yep, I'm a Navy Mom again! If her medical comes back all good, we'll be going to Lansing on Friday. She will complete her senior year in high school and they are planning on having her ship out soon after graduation. Not sure how I'm feeling right now. The Navy was good for our son and it's good to have him home. He's utilizing his GI bill by attending Grand Valley. He's hoping to start his own business. I'll check in soon again!
Good to hear from you, Colleen. Been wondering if you're lurking :-) Are you folks retired yet? So your son has decided to stick with water? I wish him well. My son has a little over a year but might be thinking of staying in. He'll be at 9 years and might plug along a little longer. I've been enjoying grandkids (now have 3) and visits to my sailor's family. His 1 1/2 year old daughter is the apple of everyone's eye in this family! enjoying retirement and a nice summer.
