Thanks Lorraine. I have found the moms out here to sooo supportive! While I do have several other family members that have retired from the Navy, I am not close with most and my uncle was in 50 years ago. Needless to say, things have changed drastically. SO its so nice to be able to ask questions out here and people be willing to answer cuz they were newbie parents too once.

Happy Friday Moms!

Welcome, FlowerPower NM. We're here to support one another. Ask any questions you have. My son is a submariner nuke MM. He's currently on the east coast but is moving to the west coast (WA) later this year.
I just met with 5 other moms from Branch & Hillsdale counties who want to start a Blue Star Moms group.
I enjoyed a visit from an AZ Navy mom in July. Who knew my son's Navy experience would bring so many new friendships with some wonderful moms? I've enjoyed evry Michigan meet up I get to. You ladies are the best!

Tysmom, thanks for the welcome!

Yup, I joined the PIR for his date.

The card making sounds fun, will you do that again? I already know I cant make the 20th.

Hey FPNM!!! Welcome to the site. I live in Jenison and have good friends in CP.

I am having a card making day on Aug 20. You can read about it in several posts below.

I would encourage you to seek out your PIR group on N4Ms. There are some seasoned moms that help you out all along your groups way. Your PIR date will be the group name.

PIR was the best!!! When those doors open and you see your son.....nothing like it!!!! Yep lots of tissues!!!

Thanks for the welcome, Colleen. I am in CP, super close.

My son was polite to start, but I know this will sharpen him above and beyond! I will take boxes of tissues!

Welcome FlowerPower!  We are a great bunch of Ladies here.  I am in Rockford.  There are a lot of Moms on the west side.  You will see your son transform into a very polite Sailor the next time you see him.  Take lots of tissues!

My son just left for a short underway this afternoon.

Tysmom, I was hoping to make the 20th but I don't think I can. If you cancel, please post that in the discussion above as a mom indicated she might come.
