Sharon, my son PIR'd April 30 and completed A school on Aug. 31. I lived for mail call during BC, didn't really receive the first letter till about 3 weeks. FYI keep writing them, good idea to number or date the envelopes on the outside. It's likely they won't be given mail until 2 to 3 weeks in but it will mean a lot when they do. I sent my cub 23 letters during boot camp, he said I won. Once he made A school he could have his phone computer etc so didn't write anymore. He's here on leave now but I do expect to write him in Japan but also have hooked up Skype.

Finally got to open our box!!! His clothes and boots of course. He was able to write a short message on the back of the tag for his Navy socks, "Love you guys, See you at Grad." It truly brought smiles to our faces!! We are looking forward to getting his address, his recruiter was out of the office today. She should be back on Monday and I will be calling her again to get his info.

@Kathy, so sorry to hear of the injuries Joshua has sustained. I will keep him in my prayers and will also include his family as well as our many troops over there still fighting.

@cudawn, Thank you. We are waiting for our other son to get home from football so we can open the box!

Good Luck Sharon on the box. I cried so much. There was no note but they smelled like him and I just broke down. I called his gf and we just cried together, 35 days and counting till I will see him. It does get a little easier each day.

We received Diego's box, it was on the porch when his girlfriend and I returned from the store. We stood staring at it and crying. We will open it tonight as a family. Kevin, Kelsey (Diego's girlfriend) are going to watch Korey play his varsity football game and Kacy is at a friend's house. Kevin will pick her up on their way home from the game and I am attending a women's conference at our church. So, later tonight................................I really want to just rip it open!!!! God give me patience, please!!!!

Good Morning. If anyone has a son/daughter that has left for boot camp this week, please come and join us at PIR 11/19/10. With the way things have been going when kids leave this should be the day they will graduate. If not we will change it. When we get their information, we will do ships/divisions.
