Hello Stace! Well, you don't have too much longer to wait! Bet you're excited and just counting down the days! My son graduates 3/11. What will your daughter be doing after graduation?

We are originally from the Detroit and Ann Arbor area and I pass through Brighton on my way up to Grand Rapids.( Actually, I have stopped and shopped up there at your HomeGoods.) We have missed Mi. quite a bit and my husband is very happy to be back home. I have enjoyed the time I get to spend up there.

Mary, I'm kind of a Newbie too. My daughter will graduate 2/11/11. SOON!! Sorry about the commuting and no luck house finding. BTW, I guess I'm more of an east sider(Brighton), but it is nice to get to know another Navy mom!!

Hello! Our son went to BC on Jan. 12th so I guess that makes me a newby!

I have seen info about various gatherings and am considering attending. I am not sure because of our situation. You see, my husband and I are in transition. He transferred and moved to Grand Rapids back in Sept. but I am still in the Cincinnati area. We have been commuting back and forth all this time. We have been looking for a home there but have yet to find one. So why am I telling you this? For support, advice, etc. As you can imagine, my load is quite heavy right now so I am grateful to have NavyforMoms and the various groups. It helps to read so much of the info that is on here!

Are you all still having the get together in Rockford in February? I know where the Arnies is there. This is of interest to me if I can be up there during that time.

You ladies are great.  Making my day with your stories.  I have gotten some flac from the Seabee group and my co-workers because I want to send stuff to my son in MS as he is moving into an apartment off base and has basically nothing.  I am even trying to think of an inexpensive way to send him a bed frame and dresser.  I was also asked why I am doing his taxes.  It is a habit that when he is ready, he can do his own.  So thank you all for the upbeat messages and love you share.  Ruth - I hope hubby gets better soon.  For those getting ready for PIR - take binoculars.  I was up against the wall at the top of the bleachers which made it easier for him to find me.  So when I looked at him through the binoculars, he smiled to let me know he saw me :)

Michimom, congrats to your son.

Ruth VH, I hope your husband is feeling better.  I've heard of quite of few cases of pneumonia lately.

Nikkosmom, my son has been gone for 1 1/2 years and my heart longs for him everyday.  It gets easier in ways, but there is always something missing.  I cry or choke up everytime he calls.  Songs he loved to listen to or songs that remind me of him make me cry.  I'm all misty eyed right now just talking about it.  But that's what we do as Moms.  And if the weather is good, you are more than welcome to come up here for our lunch on Feb. 26.
