Rockford (Kent Co.) is getting it good.  It's that greasy, slippery stuff.  I know, it's warm in the mitten, it's warm in the mitton.

No snow here in Lapeer County as of yet. Will see just how much we get after all the hype they have been doing. It is never as much as they say, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Arnie's is 1 block away from the Corner Bar.  It's on Squires St.  Courtland runs into it.  The White Pine bike trail is behind Arnie's.  I'll let everyone know if Arnie's is the place and what a few options of dates are.

I am familiar with Rockford, not sure where Annie's is tho?  I do know the Corner Bar.  I'm thinking I'll bring dad, espeically if the weather is questionable.  Possibly we'd go on down to Kalamazoo afterwards and see the youngest.

Well, I guess I'll blaze a trail by myself!  I'll work on the date for the lunch.  My husband said he would come if other Dads were coming.  If everyone is liking Arnie's, I can see if they would let us have the upstairs room so it can be kind of private.  That would be the Arnie's in Rockford.  btmom, and any other Mom coming from a distance, would coming to Rockford be closer than GR?  If you're coming from the north down 131, Rockford would be closer.  Everybody, let me know how many and if any Dads are coming.

ok i wish i was a runner and i agree that the winter world is wonderful from the inside, preferably with a cup of java and a warm sweater, lol.... So when you hear arneis what do you think of?  me?  cheesecake ok ok should think salad hmm how about salad with a side of cheesecake?  oh btmom, Arcadia must be beautiful as we have been through the area many times, just didnt relize the town names along the way.  quick note.... sailor passed the mile!  we are excited on to the next one. stay warm eveyone

Comment by Jaz04 on January 7, 2011 at 12:57pm

Colleen - I am not a runner either - maybe some day.

Ruth - Arnie's in Rockford is another good suggestion.  Yes, the Corner Bar (the hotdog place) is good, but kind of loud if you are trying to have a good conversation.  As for the hubbies come, mine probably will come too.  He was with me in Muskegon this summer.

Dunesmom - yep Cedar Springs is Red Flannel country.

I look forward to this as I am not much of a winter driver and Lansing can be far on snowy days.  I would rather be inside watching the world grow white.  My son is MS and keeps saying he misses the weather here.

Arcadia is in Manistee county about halfway between Manistee and Traverse City, right on Lake MI.  We have a golf club here, Arcadia Bluffs, maybe you've heard of that???
Comment by CathieRenee on January 6, 2011 at 9:18pm

I am also in the Plainfield/ Northview area. I work every other weekend. This coming weekend I am working, next weekend I am off... and so on. If I have enough notice I can take a vacation or personal day.

Sorry Colleen... I am not a runner.

Dunesmom... isn't Cedar Springs where Red Flannel Days is?

Comment by Dunesmom on January 6, 2011 at 8:48pm
i'm alot of mom...oh umm you didn't mean that did  you.  There is an Arnies in Rockford?  all i ever knew of was the bar with the hotdogs and the red flannel days.  Had some good times there.  Where is Arcadia? Hubby said he has heard of it but not sure where it is.  He's a truck driver and knows alot of the towns.
