Hey ladies, I'm only 2 1/2 hours from GR so if you have a get together let me know.  Of course like the rest of you, it will depend on the weather. About 5 in of snow today but then partly sunny for sunset and beautiful/

@Colleen, I was born here, but I can honestly say I can't wait to make a move to warmer weather. We are planning on it within the next five years after our daughter is graduated and in the Navy. All three K's will be in the Navy and stationed all over so we want to be warmer and able to travel to see them whereever they may be. It is snowing here too, the roads are slick. I don't like going out in the cold, missing a fireplace that is for sure.

Hey Dunesmom, sounds like the West Coast of Michigan?  I'm in Rockford - Hush Puppy land.  All of us Moms on this side of the state should try to do lunch.  We're also thinking about making it to the get together in Lansing.  The weather will be the deciding factor.  It's snowing like crazy here right now - BIG flakes.  Why do I live in this state?  I don't like winter.  But, I was born in Michigan, have always lived in Michigan and will die in Michigan.  Be safe out there!

GR?  well not there but really close by!  And what goes on at these get to gethers?  And a Man in uniform... There is nothing better!  I met my hubby in his Airforce Blues, yep gotta love it!

Talk about Snow, we sure are getting it now, there has got to be a good 6 inches  and the roads are super slick too.  Be Careful out there and take care!

@Colleen, Yes, he did wear his dress blues when they got married. He wouldn't have had it any other way. He also has a friend that is doing his "A" school in GL and he wore his dress blues as well. They really did look awesome. I have to post more photos, but there are a few on my page. If you can't see them, just friend me and then you will be able to see them.

Wow, there are quite a few of you in the GR area! That is so cool!! You should meet up and get to know one another. I am thinking of coming to the get together near Lansing this month, will depend on a few things though.

Wow, there's a few of us in the GR area.  Gee, we might have to start a Grand Rapids Moms!!  I'm not necessarily looking for people to be at the airport when my son gets home, I was looking to join a group to welcome our military servicemen/women home.  I heard of people being at the airport with signs and just showing support.  I think that's so neat.  Congratulations Sharon on your son's wedding.  Did he wear his uniform?  I love a man in uniform!  At least they got out before the weather turned nasty.  God bless all of you!

Hi Colleen, I am from Grand Rapids too.  Felt a bit down this Christmas without my son.  There were a lot of first misses this year, 4th of July, his birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.  But I know that he is happy with what he is doing.  He was able to come home in October after A school graduation and "forgot" to take a lot of things back with him.  So now I am getting the calls "Mom, will you send.......?"  I hope he realizes one day the postage I am spending on him to have his video games.  haha
