Wow what a huge change here in our little town. Not a bit of snow left.  We are actually having a small thunderstorm at the moment.  Hope the weather stays warm enough not to freeze all the rain we are getting now.  Safe travels to all coming and going.  Yea seayasoon!  oh just got to love that feeling of anticipation to see your Sailor!  Hang in there everyone!

Our Sailor and his new bride left MI. on Tuesday and arrived in GC on Wednesday. They did all they needed to do for housing and unloaded the small U-haul with all their belongings and into their new house last night. They were given a "free" pizza coupon and that was their dinner last night as they sat and looked around their first home. It was hard to hold it together as they packed everything into that U-haul, I can honestly say I didn't want them to go. As Diego has told me, mom, it's just another adjustment we have to make. Well, I am not ready though I have no say as his mom anymore. It is hard not to have him home, then we had Kelsey for a while and now too, she is with him and his room is empty. That is hard, I just stand and stare at his empty room and tears come to my eyes. How hard it is to raise them, then we have to let them go. The time goes by much too fast, it was just yesterday he was born and now he is a married man and serving our country in the U.S. Navy. How proud we are of our son and all those that have made the choice to serve "we the people." *sigh*

Dunesmom - as you are getting ready to say 'goodbye', I'm getting ready for my 'hug'!  Katie called last night just before she boarded her plane in Japan.  Her flight arrives in DTW just after lunch;)

Starting the last of the laundry and getting things ready for my Sailor to head back to base on Saturday. I'm really trying hard not to cry, but as you all know it's not working.  Have enjoyed our time together.  I have to tell ya all.... We were sitting by the fire one night and my Sailor said to me "it's been nice being home but i'm getting ready to head back" Sure makes me feel good that he feel that he has made the right decision for his life.  You all have a safe and happy New Year!

Hope all had a Merry Christmas and those that have your sailors home, enjoy!!!  We did skype with our sailor on Christmas Eve and then him and his brother skyped for about an hour last night.  All seems to be well in Japan, sure thankful for technology, it makes being far apart way easier.

Hoping you all had a great Christmas. Ours wasn't what we expected, we were to host my family and the night of Christmas Eve Diego got really sick and we had to cancel Christmas at our house. I made homemade chicken soup and we watched movies. It was nice just having us home together to be honest. I am making Christmas dinner tonight, just put the ham in and will follow with all the trimmings. They are starting to pack their things in boxes so they are ready on Tuesday to head down to S. C. with their trucks and all that they will take right now to begin a new journey in life as a newly married couple. The wedding was beautiful, truly couldn't have been more perfect. I have a couple of photos on my page, have to download from my camera yet and will add more. Wishing you a very safe and Happy New Year!!!

We had a nice Christmas at my Mom's.  Our sailor comes home in 4 days;)  We missed her call;(  Katie left a message on our home phone and then tried her sister's cell, but Alicia either didn't hear it or it had run out of juice.  Later when Alicia listened to her message, she was sad since she thought Katie almost sounded like she was going to cry.  We weren't expecting a call since we knew she was going to be with friends and Katie doesn't have an international phone.

I'm sure you are all busy with the holidays and send boxes and talking to your Sailors and if you were lucky at this time of  year to have them  home i bet you are still squeezing them.  got to make sure they have those marks and memories when they head back.  We are having a wonderful time.  My Sailor and my dauther are headed to Caberafe', hmm did i spell that right?, tomorrow along with a cousin and friend.  Wishing you all the best!
