For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

RED CROSS CONTACT INFO:

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

I know they did this on Thanksgiving when my daughter was there. I'm sure San Diego weather will be better than staying in GL like my daughter did for DC school.

Comment by btmom on December 18, 2010 at 9:33am: Kathy, mine is a hospital corpsman in Sasebo. He works as a medavac clerk at the clinic. So he sends alot of people up to Yokosuka. He's been there since early October.

Comment by MarianneKT's Mom on December 17, 2010 at 9:35pm: gitti - write, it will help. Katie was at BC for Thanksgiving, but her PIR was in early December. We were very fortunate to have her home for Christmas before A school. Last year she flew home from Japan for Christmas. This year it will be the 30th. It may be hard on us, but may be harder on them. Try to get as many friends and family to write her or send her Christmas cards. If you friend me and give me her address at BC, I would be happy to send her a card as well;)

I will eventually be able to say that....lol She is spending her birthday today and then the rest of the holidays in boot camp. I see I can gain alot of wisdom from your experiences and all the things I have to look forward to and not look forward to as she enters the different phases of the Navy.
