OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

Well if the Atlanta Thasher can't win (and obviously they can't) I'd be happy to see Stanley back in my hometown!

Hi Janet, welcome to the site. I remember Chelsea! My sister is in Pickney, actually all of our family is spread around the area but we moved south - no more snow or ice for us!

What a big day for graduation your son has!

KKF - I know if they are 12 and under, they do not have to be on the guest list which still gives your Sailor to be 4 seats to work with. I don't believe IDs are required at that age either but double check the graduation paperwork that you received as they spell it out on there. When do you PIR?

Teri - I can certainly understand why you would question this letter. When we received our son's first letter ...I was stunned at the handwriting! So neat, so formed, so incredible compared to what his normal sloppy old writing was!!! It's just one of many pleasant improvements we have seen!!

Lisa is correct they do have them write in block and the number 0 will have a line through it. this makes it known that its a zero and not the letter O. and remember he is in a new enviroment and with people he is just learning about and getting to know. Oh and dont forget that when you see him at PIR he will have changed. Some change a little others a lot but you will see how he has grown. Don't worry, remember these men and women are being tested. they are tired I'm sure you will feel better when you get to talk to him.
