Mnpatty: This is what I know re:Flowerama in Blaine. They have the Patriot Guard pick up the wreaths and deliver them to Fort Snelling prior to the ceremony at 11:00 on the 10th of December. The cost is a bit cheaper but the wreaths are still done up with cones and a bow. If you are also a Blue Star Mother (let them know) and they will include a small American (made) Flag. They are hoping that all the orders are in by the 5th so they have enough for both the general public and the ones that are going to the cemetery.
I ordered two for the cemetery just the other day. They were so kind to me at the Flowerama. I would certainly go there again and again! The owner does a lot of things for the military. One year he gave away 100 dozen roses to the military sweethearts (girl friends and wives) for Valentine's Day, another year he gave out 100 dozen roses to military moms for Mother's Day. Now, I think that is way too cool.
Had a great Thanksgiving and shopping. Skyped with my sailor and his wife for an hour today. he showed us their new apartment.
I'm back from visiting my dad and mom and sisters and families. We had a great time. Lots of good food and lots of laughter. I am so thankful for them.
I also want to put in a plug for buying a wreath for the grave sites. For me, it is a heartwarming chance to show my appreciation, even if no one else knows I did it.
Also, Flowerama is so kind and nice.
I'm a very happy Navy Mom today! Just got off the phone with Eric Robert! I asked if he had a good Thanksgiving Dinner. My answer sorta surprised me. "Nope, went to the beach!" Then I remembered he was in Hawaii. Dah!! I would be at the beach too! Kids, don't you just love 'em?!!
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Now we can start to think about Christmas.
For those of you that don't have this on your calendar for December...Wreaths Across America is on the 10th of December. In the Twin City area, the cemerony will be at the main flag pole at 11:00 in Fort Snelling. The Flowerama in Blaine will be having the Patriot Guard pick up any wreaths that have been ordered to take out to the cemetery. Thanks Carol for ordering yours. We need to remember those who have lost their lives for your Country. If you have never driven by the cemetery around Christmas, take the time to do so. It is very pretty with all the wreaths on the grave stones, knowing that our soldiers are not forgotten.
Happy Thanksgiving to MN Navy Moms and their families.
My sailor will not be be home for the holidays this year. He states now that he'll be home in mid January for a short while. We are looking forward to seeing him again.
I bought 2 wreaths today to put on the grave sites.
Happy Thanksgiving MN Navy Moms and families and all our Navy Sailors!!! Hooyah!!!
Happy Thanksgiving, and God Bless all MN Navy moms and your families.
