JJ - That is awesome!!  What a sense of humor that kid has!  Just wait until Baby Kate is off on her own --- then he'll call and say "Mom ... now I know why you wanted to hear from me all the time ..."!!  :-)

You may be going to Hawaii, but I am still going to find a way to plan that visit from him ... how to reach him though .... hmmmm .... it shouldn't be too awfully hard to reach the XO of a base, right?  ;-)

Glad to hear people are getting calls! Reminds me of waiting for those random boot camp calls. The phone was never turned off, "just in case." I still don't turn it off, "just in case." (even though he's on land) Must be a mom thing.

It was a year ago yesterday we watched him go through PIR, what a proud day for our Sailors! Whenever I see the facebook posts about those graduating, I always think back to that day and imagine how proud those families are of their kids too:-)

Here's the latest:  I reached the daughter-in-law yesterday and told her to tell Eric Robert that he COULD call home just to say hello, I love you and Good-bye.  I would be happy with that.  Seems he was out with Baby Kate, doing the father-daughter bonding thing.  He does that every Saturday morning. Anyway, in the afternoon, the phone rang....."Hello, Mom...I love you...Good-bye!"  LOL  LOL  I thought that was so funny!  We chatted for a while and now I'm good for another 6 months or so!!  I'm not gonna wait that long.  I will show up at his door step in Feb. The Island Paradise will suit his dad and me just fine.  I am not opposed to traveling 12 or more hours by plane to see him.   Did that when he was in Bahrain and it didn't hurt me any. So it will be nice to get away from the cold and snow of Minnesota in the middle of Winter.  I will think of you all.

We are, too.  We got another call last night.  He woke up early to call us when we were home.  Now it will be a while, but hopefully we will get an email or two.

The "fun" starts for them now.

Holly, how are you doing?

Well, the phone calls and texting have stopped.  I guess my sailor is down and under the sea again.  I miss that kid and am very proud of him.

NavyMomx3, I'm so happy for you.  It never matters what time the call comes in.  Just to hear their voice is worth any lost sleep :)

Holly and Carol, I understand your excitement about getting a phone call.  I got a phone call at 4:00 A.M. today.  My sailor was calling!!  I always keep my phone on during the night because I never know when my sailor who is in a submarine might have a chance to call. I was groggy but did I care?  Not!!  Made my day.  Now he's been texting me for awhile this A.M.  I'm a happy camper. JJ, I trust you hear from your sailor soon.

JJ - What is his email address?  Maybe he just needs a "nudge" from another Navy Mom!   I needed to contact him about that "surprise mom" visit anyway .... ;-)

They do make life interesting :)

Just think, we all would never have met without them, and they don't even know each other.
