Carol ~ wish I had that kind of influence!

Made lasagna in the slow cooker yesterday.  It turned out pretty good!  They ate it all.  Tonight's meal is already cooking, so won't be going out. :(

JJ~ I used to be a 12-month griller.  Gas grill died last fall.  It's been a long time since I've enjoyed grill cooking. :(  I'm hoping if this slow-cooker thing isn't too successful ... I might have a new grill by fall ... one can hope!

Baby woke up at 5.  At least I could rest while he had his nap.

JJ, it is a wonder how much we know!!

Have fun at dinner.  I love going out to eat.  For my birthday I got 2 free meals and 2 free desserts.  I figure if I sign up with my email at all these places, like they want, they better reward me on my birthday :)  I even got a free bracelet from Helzberg's.

MNSunshine, maybe you can convince the family going out is a great thing to do on a hot day.

Mom to 2 Sailors, how wonderful for you.  My 4 haven't been together in at least 3 years.  They keep missing each other, and they can't help it.  With their different jobs that is just how it goes.  One of these years...

The answer to the question, "What are you making for dinner, Dear?" is ALWAYS:

"Reservations!!"  LOL  Never miss an opportunity.    I love cooking outside.  We grill 12 months a year.  No use having a grill if you don't use it.  I also do the slow cooker. No fuss, no bother.   But then again, I hate to cook. Doesn't matter what month it is.

JJ ~  Wish I'd get taken out to supper.  I have a new slow cooker meal plugged in outside.  Finding ways to cook in this heat has become an adventure.  Going out sounds like a better deal! ;)

Carol...it wasn't the husband that was determined!  It was me.  He mentioned that "maybe he would call to get an appointment", but it was me!  I went on line and made the appointment before he even finished the sentence!! Matter-of-fact, I just got it back now.  Seems there wasn't any freon in it (which is what I said last night) but husbands never believe the wife!  LOL  Anyway, I have to that it back in a week since they also put some die in the system to detect any small leak that may have developed. NO CHARGE TO ME.  That was even better news. So, now the husband is happy and I might get taken out for supper!  Works for me.

How determined he was!!  Did he decide he needed to take it in?

Tonight was the first night with "Mom and Dad".  The baby wouldn't take an afternoon nap, but did go right to sleep at 7:30.  The other two didn't take too long when we put them down, but they are all notorious for being "early" risers - - 5:30 am?  We do have a kiddie pool now to soak our feet in :)

A friend of mine came over this evening.  She dropped her car at the house, then we all got into the husband's NEW car to drive together to go out to dinner with some other friends.  Within 3 minutes we hit the express way only to discover that (Gee) the A/C doesn't seem to be putting out any cold air!! Please note that at our house there are 2 other vehicles there that have prefect running cars with A/C. Does the husband want to go back (just 2 and a half miles) to trade cars...NO. We must be doing something wrong, pushimng the wrong buttons, or something. We haven't used the car in a few days and besides it IS brand NEW, what could possibly be wrong with the A/C? Nothing like driving for 35 minutes with NO A/C in this heat, with our hair all done up (well it was done when we left). Guess what I am doing in the morning???   LOL   And life goes on...

No AC here.  Sleeping in the basement!

I just want to remember this feeling when I am in two pair of socks, 3 shirts and a sweatshirt, and heavy sweatpants!  I hope no one had damage or power outage from this morning.

I'm in my basement with ice wrapped in a bandana tied around my neck.  The kids are all in the same room with me.  It's like living in a studio apartment with a family (and everyone's friends)! ;)
