Whoshero, Ohh, yeah maybe. I originally thought my son's PIR date would be 11/19, so did some others that left at the same time. Evidently they "fill" divisions and my son was one that got an earlier PIR date. Thats too bad about the bogus info. I'm sure he will get his mail. Hang in there, I will look here to keep up with how things are going for you!

missheparin, It is possible that they left together but apparently something got missed in processing and my son got sent back to do it and ended up being moved to a different division so we have the later PIR of 11-19. After hearing this from his recruiter it explained a lot about why his first weeks haven't been so good. His recruiter originally gave us ship 11 div. 370, then got the form letter with ship 11 div 002...his recruiter found out about the processing snafu and let us know. Now I'm hoping all his mail caught up to him because we sent it to ship 11 div. 370. btw, we didn't go to MEPS, his girlfriend took him and I cried at home :(

LOL Wendy, My name is Katherine, I work in the operating room, some time ago a nurse friend/co-worker of mine had been "out of practice" scrubbing on vascular cases,so we "scrubbed" together. When the surgeon asked for heparin she turned and said" Katherine..heparin!! Ha ha she thought that was funny and has called me missheparin ever since. Just a term of endearment from an old friend! I guess it does seem a little strange?

Whoshero, I'm thinking our kids left together. My son left meps 9/21/10. Probably saw you there! My son is ship 11 Div 370 PIR 11/12/10. Is that the same for your recruit? Please feel free to join the PIR 11/12/10 group. Hope to see you there!!

I'm in Coon Rapids. Rec'd the box and form letter...sounds like the first 2 weeks have been a bit rough...hopefully things will look up from here for him. I've been busy so it seems to be going by quickly.

Being just west of Brainard, you are not too far from some of us. I am thinking that there are several moms from that area that you could become very close with. Check on the Members Page. Most will leave a city or near city next to their name. But anytime that you want to head to the Cities for one of our get togethers, come on down! We would love to have you. Remember, if you ever have any questions, there is always someone that can answer them on this site. Have a great day. (I am the mom that has been involved with the Navy for more years than I like to admit. My son is on staff on the USS Enterprise)

Just sent my son to boot camp. Love following along with you all, makes it seem real to me too instead of him just being "gone".
