Thanks Juli. We don't know PIR date yet. The recruiter said that is known about halfway through BC. But from what I've read on this site it seems it comes in "the letter"?? Is that correct?

Just got "the box" today. I was sitting in the sun in the back, walked around to the front to move the sprinkler, and there it was sitting on the front step (no doorbell, knock, etc.) It took me off guard. We weren't expecting it until Tuesday, he just left 8/3. I cried as I carried it to the back. If my neighbors saw me they probably are wondering what's going on. Hopefully this means "the letter" is on it's way so we can write him:-)

Thanks everyone! It would be fun to meet other Navy Moms! I often feel like people sometimes "don't get" what I'm feeling. They compare it to their kids going off to college and it's not the same.

For those of you in the neighborhood of 105th and University NE, in Blaine, the Flowerama is having a huge sale! 2 dozen roses for $9.95. I just bought some and they are beautiful! And you did read it right...2 dozen roses!! I bought the yellow ones and they are huge. So, if nothing else, treat yourself and tell your friends. The price is good until they run out.

I just found this MN site. Our son left yesterday for BC. What a whirlwind of emotions. His "I'm here" call was a bad connection:-(

I would like everyone to keep my son and all the sailors on the Enterprise in their prayers - they are out to sea right now for a while, and I don't get to have a lot of contact with him while they are out because we haven't done anything about a phone card yet. And because he is a nuke he works long hours and doesn't get a chance to check email constantly.

He also turns 21 while they are out, and he is bummed about that because he spent his 18th bday in boot camp, and now his 21st out to sea.

Glad you are doing better, Robin. I am planning on the 14th, just can't drive far right now with the eyes. Will be back in town and check in later.

Julie.....I'm not telling! They were all so cute! And all in great shape.

Eric is on his way back into port!! Should be there tomorrow. It seems that I am the last to know....Didn't know he left!! But that's the price you pay for just being the MOM and not the wife. Oh well. I have gotten used to not knowing just where he is from day to day, so it doesn't bother me much. Too many years under my belt to get to upset.
Yes, we did have a blast. It was aewsome. I posted some pictures on my home page. Take a look if you wish.
