As I sat looking out the living room window, watching the snow come down in huge, fluffy flakes, my cell phone rang:
"Merry Christmas, Mom" It was Eric! What a wonderful present on this most important day of the year. Although the call was way too short, he was doing well.
There aren't any better presents than getting that call from your son or daughter when they are far from home. I will sleep well tonight!

MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyone!! Bless all our moms and their families. A special blessing to all our military men and women and remember we love you all and are so very proud of each and every one.

JJ, now you have me curious!! Hope that I don't forget to ask you about that story. I'm praying all of you have a Merry Christmas, and a Blessed New Year. Safe travel for all you that need to. Robin, don't you go to PIR soon?

Hello to all the Minnesota Moms! Christmas is right around the corner and most of you have your presents wrapped and under the tree. Your cookies are baked and your Christmas meal is planned, with plenty to eat for all. We are expecting a full blown snow storm, just in time for Santa's arrival. It will be prefect with all the new snow that will fall. Our sailors may be on their way home, they may be having their first Christmas away from home, maybe even in a foreign country or they are home already. For those who are away from home, remember that they are looking at the same stars that we are, so they are not that far away! We are connected. How lucky so many of us are with today's new technology. A phone call away or maybe a computor with a video hook-up.
Back when things were very different Say in the Viet Nam War, things weren't that easy. A snail letter was sent out and if you were really lucky, your letter would arrive two or three weeks latter, but if you were really lucky, you might get it even sooner. Then everyone was thrilled. Please that in mind this Christmas.
THe next time we see one another, I will tell you all a Christmas story that happened back in about 1972 or so. It was one that I will NEVER forget. So the next time we are together, remind me to tell you about it. I just took some medications and now I have the hiccups and I am nearly falling asleep. Night

Have fun for me, too. It's the only night that I can truly stay home and get something done. Both Saturday and Sunday are packed, and I still have gifts to get and cards to mail. I'm tired just thinking of it. :)
I will be waiting to hear how it went.

I can print some out and bring them with. I will bring 4 or 5. You might have to remind me....I am getting at the age where I am forgetting things!! LOL I talked to Ruth last night and she talked me into going to the Christmas party for Ch 7 on Thursday night. So I guess I am going after all.

Good for you, JJ. Do you have pictures that you can show next time we get together? I'm so glad I was able to get a wreath.
Comment by JJ on December 14, 2009 at 2:58pm
I made up a CD of the wreaths at Ft. Snelling to give to Tim, the owner of the Flowerama. The pictures turned out nice and I know that Tim will appreciate the CD since he was not able to attend the cememory himself. He does so much to support our troops and their families!! What a terriffic guy!!

JJ, wanted to let you know that I went down and bought a wreath for Wreaths Across America. The Flowerama girls were very sweet. Glad I went there.
Have a good Friday, everyone. Night.
