Can't wait for the Meet and Greet at MOA on Saturday, the 14th of November!! Yes, I am still bringing the husband! As long as neither of us are sick, we will be there. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I just got off the phone with my son, Eric. Had to call him and wish him a Happy Birthday. I also reminded him how old he was. (I didn't want to mention the fact that I am even older than I thought! WOW)

See you all on Saturday!!

Hello all! Been forever since I have been on. Spencer graduated from nuke school on Sept 5 - he was home for about a month, and left Oct 14 for Norfolk. He is stationed on the USS Enterprise, and is getting used to living on a carrier. He said it is tough to go from living in a house in NY, with his own bedroom, to living on a carrier in a bunk-type like room.

I am planning on coming down for the meet/greet - I think it will be fun, and I am going to bring my kids down so they can go look around. We don't go to MOA much just because it is far away and so busy.

Wendy - I certainly hope Jim waits to get married. They are so young, and speaking from experience, it is hard to make a marriage work when you are that young and get married that young. I really believe at the age they are you don't know what you want out of life, and you change so much. I really talked to Spencer from teenage years about the fact that you need to REALLY think things through, and especially being in the military, it is not easy to make a marriage work.

Amanda, I was in the same boat. :) We got the Sailor call when on our way. We were to Madison, I think. Congrats to you. Safe travels and ENJOY!

Linda,
First of all, I am so sorry for your loss and hope that your husband is doing much better.
Then, I wanted to let you know that with the meet and greets that have been having for the last few months, we normally will meet at a restaurant, everyone pays for their own lunch, we chat and laugh and exchange info about our kids. Some bring pictures, which is always a treat!! There isn't any problem with "getting stuck" with a huge bill like Elizabeth did. Mary was nice enough to volunteer to pick the place to meet for November and the time has usually been at 1:00, which seems to work well. It seems that we sorta takes turns picking the place, so everyone can choose a place they like. (We are hoping for more moms from the south come this time) Sometimes we have 4 people and other times 6 or 8. We give everyone lots of advance notice so they can clear their calendar or make arrangements to car-pool, or whatever. It's sorta a "come as you are" and if it is close to shopping and you have other family members that want to shop while you are having lunch with the other moms, it works out well. Hope that you will be able to come this time. It is always so much fun to meet new moms that haven't attended or ones that we haven't seen for a while. Now, if I can ever remember everyone's names, that will be great!!

My sympathies on the death of your mil, Linda. Is your husband doing better?

Thanks Julie for sending your photo!! Mine is some where in cyber-space!! I managed to send it to the other Julie without a problem, but to post it here...well as you can see, it didn't make it. I did try, several times and it just wouldn't go. We had such a good time! With the next Meet and Greet in the southern part of the cities, maybe we will have a bigger attendance. Thanks again for your photo! Here are the names to go with the photo: Amanda, Mary, JJ, Julie, Carol, and Julie
