Good Morning everyone! I did send a nice Thank You card to the BWW. I used the picture at the right since it is so "American" and basically including everyone that comes to the Meet & Greet at the Grill and Bar. I thanked them for their patience, their service and for them making us feel so welcome. Hope that covered everything!

That's what we have to keep in mind, and keep encouraging our kids. They are our future.

Oh, Dear!! Boot Camp Nightmare for those young people that may never have been away from home before. Before long, they will be the ones that are the leaders of our country. Our little boys and girls will grow up fast and before long a wonderful adult will be standing there with more pride than you ever thought.

Karla, I'm sorry. Hopefully he was just tired and now is doing better. The hard part is that you can't to talk to him and find that out. Stay strong. It will turn out right.

I'm glad Diane was able to get going. Poor girl. Hope her recovery speeds up. Good idea on the thank you to WBW. They were very good to us.
MOA is fine. I never go there unless it is to meet out of town guests, so it has been a while. As long as there is some place that we can sit and talk and laugh for as long as we want, I'm good to go.

What ever works is fine with me. Since I am not a shopping type person, I rarely go there since every place I want to go to is on the "other side". With the restaurants there, most places have a waiting list to get in especially in November and December. Doesn't the MOA have an open "food-court" on the 3rd or 4th floor? Plenty of room to sit, from what I remember. At least the wait-person doesn't come over to the table and ask you to leave because you've been there too long! LOL When we get together, it is like old home week and there is never enough time to chat! The WBW at Northtown has been very willing to allow us to sit and chat for however long we want. I think I will send them a special Thank You note to let them know how much I appreciate them for doing that for us.
The kids left this morning. Diane's head was still spinning and she still had a slight fever but was determined to go back to Virginia where her mom (from Charleston, SC) was coming to help until she can regain her strength. That will help a lot with Baby Kate being so active and always on the go.

I'm thankful that when I have my side of the family up most of them can stay at my sister's. Mine isn't big enough either.. The garage would work if I cleaned out the stuff the kids moved in. LOL

(Julie), maybe at the next Meet and Greet I can ask you more about your Navy History! I would love to know more about your Dad. With so many WWII vets dieing every day, there are not many left.
As I mentioned to the rest of you on Saturday, my WWII vet is coming in for a visit this week. He hasn't been to MN for about 8 months so he will want to see many of his old friends when he is here. I had a house full of people here today, with my mother and both sisters arriving this morning to see Eric and his family. I think that we would have had more room in the garage if I would have moved the cars out. LOL My house is not really big enough for more than four people at a time. Poor design. But I have a big yard!!. LOL
I have such a good time at these Meet and Greets!! I am working on my Grandma Skills and have put a few pictures in my purse! I really enjoy getting to know all of you. We just don't have enough time to get to know every body in such a short time! And the time just flew by, again. With everything that was going on, I needed the time away from the house. By the time all my company is gone I may need a vacation! After the kids leave today, I'm taking a nap!

God bless Eric and family, JJ. Hope the flight goes well. And, yes, it should be a a piece of cake after Afghanistan.
Did the parade go well, Becky? Did your granddaughter carry the flag?

At this point in time, there are many places that would be good to meet where we all can be comfy and still have a bit of privacy in a centrally lacated place. The Wild Buffalo Wings place is easy to get at from everywhere, but it might be a bit too far North for some. With the freeway system around the cities, it is pretty easy to get to verywhere as long as you have an address and some sort of cross-street listed. UPDATE: Eric and his family will be catching a flight out of MSP and heading home to Virginia on MOnday morning. We are hoping that Diane will be able to tolerate the flight, since she is still very weak and very light-headed when she is moving about. Eric will have his hands full with both her and the baby. But if he can handle his command in Afghanistan, he can handle anything.
