I am so sorry to hear about your son. The Navy has gotten really strict on "anything unusual" regarding the skin. Our neighbor's son applied to the Navy and was turn down because he had a small rash on the back of his arm. Of course it went away a few days after his phyical without knowing what it was. Go figure! I am sure that other Navy Moms are praying for a good outcome in this matter, as I. Please keep us posted.

Well I got my letter from son  with his PIR date. But in turn  I got a call from him that he was ASMO'D. and his PIR date may be different. He hit his knee and was sent to medical and the Dr. noticed a scar on his knee (this was from a knee injury when he was in 6th grade) He had told his recruiter about it and the MEPS Dr. but neither had written it down. The Naval Base Dr. put him in ASMO which can delay his PIR until they figure it out. He hasn't been put on Ship 5 which would end his Navy life. He was frustrated with the unknowing of going back to his group or going home. And there is nothing we can do about it from our end. I did speak to his recruiter about it and he was going to check on it.. I hate waiting!!!

Thanks for posting the picture JJ!  It was a nice lunch and the location is a winner for future gatherings. Loved the pictures of your son and his family JJ. I will try and bring some next time and hopefully others will too. It's always fun to hear what all our sons and daughters are doing in the Navy :)

Just an update on the Roasted Pear....For anyone that has not replied, I hope that we have a nice turn out.  Anyone that doesn't want to drive to St. Cloud, you are very welcome to join the other Navy Moms in Brooklyn Park.

Just got back from MEPS shipping off another son into the Navy (this one will be in the reserves). New hotel last night and in the new building over by Fort Snelling for swearing in.
Very Nice
Now I guess I just wait for the 'I'm here' phone call and that lovely box that gets sent home.
Have a Great day everyone
If I don't have to work on the 15th I will try and get to the 'Roasted Pear'

MN Mom...I have always thought that it was a great idea for the Southern Moms and the Western Moms meet at a more localized place like Belle Plaine, New Ulm, or Hutchinson and the Northern Moms and Eastern Moms meet on the north or northeast side of the Twin Cities. Then, once or twice a year meet together. That was one of the reasons I set up "Everyones Birthday".  The Holidays are over by then, summer is about to start and everyone is sick of the snow and cold weather. We all get a chance to update the other moms about their kids and catch-up on each other, as well as giving ourselves a big "pat on the back" for holding ourselves together for another year. It can be a very difficult time for most moms to have their kids away from home, in harms way.

There was a get together planned by the Navy for Moms group, however  it got canceled because of the Faccebook Moms get together. (The double-booking thing) Some of us joined the Facebook moms get together because we all want to have the support of other Navy Moms. I am sure that each mom will find the perfect group to be comfortable with. It may take some time, but we all hope that there will be a "connection" that will work for each of us.

We all have concerns about our kids, whether they are Navy Seals, Navy Officers, serve aboard our subs or our battleships, fly our fighter planes, or do other jobs that are just as important as the others. We are the Proud Navy Moms that send those prayers everyday and worry about our kids. They work together and so should we.

MN Mom, don't worry...I think it is a part of the growing pains we are experiencing as new mothers join us.  I know that we just need to remember that not all of us are on Facebook, and that we need to be thinking of two sites.  I like the idea of two locations (or so) because I don't always have the time to drive far to get together.  I'm hoping to make the Roasted Pear site, just have to check on another obligation first.  We can only do what we can to stay connected .  Thanks for both of you -meaning you and JJ - for trying to keep us meeting.  :)

I am really sorry if I have contributed to confusion between these two groups. I have started writing down all the MN locations I see people from on fb and  here and we are spread wide and far, and maybe instead of thinking we are all going to meet up at one location, it will have to be a choice between 2 and go to what is closest to you. It could be even 3 as there seems to be close to at least 10 Navy families just here in the Mankato/So MN area. I will continue to try to be a go between for the 2 groups.
