Good morning everyone,

Is the time definately 10:30 pm on Saturday for the honor flight? I am going to try and be there.

I'd like to go, but we have a wedding that day.  It is also Homecoming at school.  Gary announces at the football game so we have to rush to the wedding after.

Yes, Amanda, I am busy also. This year I'm going in to school 4 days a week.  I do miss my Fridays off, but I'm glad Mondays are still free to catch up.

Thanks girls for the correction!  10:30 P.M. it is!  I hope that we have some Navy Moms at this important event.

Thank you Carol and MidwestNavyMom for your concerns regarding my "accident".

It is at 10:30 pm. I'm on the Anoka BTYR and that's what they said at our meeting last week. I've never been, but it sounds like a great thing!

JJ - Sorry to hear about your owies! Not fun. Take care of yourself and glad to hear your mom's party was a hit :-)

Carol - The school year is busy so I haven't been on here much. I'm hoping things start to feel more manageable soon. How about for you?

I thought it was a.m., but I will check to make sure.  I will post the correct time.

If I am going to do something, I might as well do it up right!!! The break is about an inch or so above the last break that I had, so it is no big deal at this point.  Slows me down!  My toes and foot was really swallen tonight, so pain killers and a nights sleep and hope it is better in the morning!!

My moms party was a blast.  She was having the time of her life. Couldn't believe that so many people were there. I was thrilled that she was so happy!

What!!! you broke your fibula??  I'm so sorry.

Enjoy your mother's party.

(and isn't the time 10:30 pm    when they get back??)

Attention all moms!  The Honor Flight for our WWII vets is coming in at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 11th at the Hubert Humphrey Airport (SunCountry Airlines).  If you would like to welcome them home, please meet by the luggage pick-up. This was going to be my first time greeting those heros for me. I am hoping that I can attend. Seems that I took a fall and went BOOM. Bruised up my right knee, strained muscles in my back and neck, scraped up  my palms and broke my fibula. This is really slowing me up for the time being, however I hope I will be able to make this very important "greet and welcome home". If you can come, it would mean a lot to those who have served our Country in WWII.  They are becoming few and we need to let them know how much we appreciated their service.

Today I am off to celebrate my Mom's 90th birthday. Big party that I can't miss.  Pain pills will be on MY menu for the day! LOL

Thank you, I will do my best to be at the next gathering.

Splash, we have them posted here.  We try for one a month or one every two months.  In April we have "Everyone's Birthday" where we bring a gift to exchange.  Doesn't matter when your birthday is, in April we celebrate it :)

Going to college is different...all 4 of mine went, and then the 4th one enlisted after a year of college.  It was way different!

MidwestNavyMom, how's your school year going??

Comment by splash on October 3, 2014 at 11:20am

I have felt the same way when people that have children leaving for college tell me they understand...it is NOT the same!

I know that people just don't think about what they are saying but it still makes me want to give them a reality check.

I have an older daughter that went to colleg 12 years ago...NOT THE SAME!

How do I find out about the get togethers?
