Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by MN Mom of MM on August 6, 2014 at 6:23pm: Once we get into mid September my Saturdays are nearly all booked with craft and vendor shows with my Minnesota Sno Flakes. A Sunday afternoon could be possible?? As far as location, we here in Mankato are about 75 miles from the intersection of 494 and 100. If all of us 5-7 moms from here could carpool on a day almost anywhere would be great for a road trip.

Here is my suggestion: I would like to see the get togethers held between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 P.M. on a Saturday or early afternoon on a Sunday. We have moms that are from the north-side communities (Coon Rapids, North St. Paul, Wyoming, Champlain, just to name a few), so something that is easy access from Highway 10, 610 or even 35W north of 36. Let's not forget the moms from Mankato and Rochester areas!! It's hard to get a location where every one can meet, so having the get togethers in different areas is great!

Please note that not eveyone is on Facebook, so listing it on this site is perfect for everyone. Thanks again to AmyS for posting the last one here!

Now that I am up and walking around after having my back messed-up, I have a lot of things to catch up on around the house. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

I checked in to see how the St. Cloud get together went. AmyS, thanks for posting the pic. Hope you ladies had a nice visit. AmyS, congrats on the weight loss. Not much new in my family. My sailor and his wife moved into Navy housing a month ago and love it. They were sharing an apt. with roommates and love having a place that is all their own now. Wife found a job at the tailoring shop (or whatever they call it) on base. She was hoping for Nordstroms. This is a close second. LOL. Hope to see all of you soon. Happy August!

Comment by AmyS on July 31, 2014 at 2:46pm: Wow, things have been busy here lately! Sounds like everyone is doing well. Welcome to the new moms.

My son called the other day and he said things are 'ramping up' for him. His boat is out of dry dock and in water. He was out for a couple weeks a month or so ago on a different boat, but when he goes this time it will be his first real underway. I'm still not sure how I feel about it:)

I posted a get together above and apologize for the short notice, but I just saw it on Facebook and thought I'd post it here also.

Almost time to break out the sweatshirts!

Now I can imagine him thriving in his new environment. Fortunately for me I have one son in Madison and my dad lives in Detroit so I can road trip from MN to WI to IL to MI and see everyone once he is done with basic. I'm trying to stay positive. I'm generally an optimistic person. This is just so foreign to me.

Comment by MidwestNavyMom on July 26, 2014 at 10:49pm: Ensignbenson - What you're feeling is normal for us Navy Moms. I cried when his box came because it smelled like him. I have a daughter in college and another son heading there in a month, and it is nothing like leaving for the military. We haven't seen our son in 15 months and miss him lots, but he likes what he's doing and has been to some amazing places. Send your son encouraging words and know what you're feeling is not unusual. Have you joined the Navy Moms group for his PIR? I did that and that was a HUGE support because we were all in it together.
