Hi Missouri Moms! What's going on with you and your sailors? My son made it home from his first deployment on the Fourth of July. I am glad to have him stateside for a while. We probably won't see him until the winter holidays though.
Hope you all are well and your sailors doing well too. Enjoying the summer??
When my daughter was on deployment last year, one package got to her in 2 weeks and one (her birthday package) took about 2 months. She even thought it went overboard with some stuff, but it didn't. Whew!
Sandy that is CRAZY! I hope this is isn't what I will have to look forward to! But I bet he was still very happy to receive a package ( or two ) and I bet he tried to eat the cookies anyway!
Hello Missouri Moms! My son is on his first deployment and we have been having mail issues since the beginning. Well, the package of "favorite things" I sent the first week of April finally arrived---yesterday. It came with the Valentine's Day package from his girlfriend. A little bit longer and it would have had to follow him BACK half way around the world. They don't call it snail mail for nothing! (I think maybe he shouldn't eat those cookies...possibly they could hurl them at the enemy....) Have a great week everyone!
chirp-chirp!! ( I don't know what word to use to describe cricket noise! ) Happy Wednesday to you too!
Happy Hump Day Ladies! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer. It's very quiet on here....I can hear crickets! LOL
My son was part of Cardinal Company 2012. It was great to hear from other moms, and know that our sons were all together. We spent an exciting day in St. Louis watching our sons march down the street, having a picnic with them, watching them get sworn in. (Hoping it would be televised, but it wasn't.) And even though there was a Cardinals game going on, and I'd never been to one before... I didn't watch it. I had my son; he had left Aug. 5th with the recruiter, and we drove to St. Louis on the 9th for the picnic and game. It was great!! And when they all leave the game to go to their buses, follow them. (who cares about the game?) They were still "there" for quite a while. I thought they had left the game, boarded the bus, and left quickly. We decided to leave shortly after, and I just missed watching them board the bus. (I just wanted every little glimpse of him that I could get! :) ) There is a group called Cardinal Company 2012 on here. Your discussion forum should work just as well. Have a great time...
