Hopefully you all will have another get together that I could come to. I just got permanent guardianship of my 4 great-nieces and great-nephews this past week and have not had a chance to leave Springfield, Missouri. Because the parents are heavy drug users, I cannot let them stay with their parents when we go to the KC area, I have to get a hotel with 2 rooms. That has been a little bit of a strain right now because my husband lost his job last Jully when his company closed their doors. We are making it alright now since he gets unemployment but when that is up and if he still has not found a job or gotten on disability then we might start having some problems. Having permanent guardianship at least allows me and my husband the right to tell the parents that they cannot see them at this time. So hopefully everything is going alright with all of you. My son is doing just fine. He is stationed in Nebraska right now and has gone to the ballgame the last two nights. I am schedueled to go up to see him the first week in July and am looking forward to it alot.

Joni, I live in Springfield, Missouri an most people down here are also St. Louis fans. I get to ignore a lot of people I guess. I was just funning you. My minister is also a Cards fan so he gets a lot of ribbing from me and my family on Sunday mornings. Hope everything is going good for you and yours.

Sorry but I am not a Crds fan. I am originally from KC and we root for the ROYALS. I remember a season 24 years ago. I have to say that was the best World Series that I have ever watched. KC pulled it out even though they had to go the whole seven games. I am sure that there are others that like someone other than the Cards. Thanks. just had to bring that up. My Navy boy is for KC all the way.

Here in Springfield, all we got was lots of rain and wind. I live in the SE area of Springfield and it really was not too bad in my area.

At least it is early in the season, they tend to run better as the season progresses, but it does keep us on the edge of our seats! Go CARDS!!
I am like you Virginia! There is nothing like the warmth of the sun! I have been putting in 120 miles traveling per day lately, not to mention working 10 hrs when at my destination, so driving with the sun on my seat is nice!
Joni, so glad your son is fine, and had a good day off, and did not get into any of that mudslide going on! And see, knew they'd find your paperwork! Someone "spoke" before really looking! Hope the rest of that goes well.
See you all later...gotta go get at least a few hours sleep before another LONG day...

Cheryl, I am in Springfield, Missouri. I am not sure exactly where Carl junction is. My son is currently stationed at the Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. That is really nice to have him so close to home so it will be a lot easier to visit with him.

Brrrr, me (and the computer) are just trying to warm up! Had a wedding shower to attend tonite, and while we were preparing, it snowed! Luckily, none stuck (yet!) but we do have cold settling in for the next 3 days. Yuck!
Joni, seen on the news that Widbey in Washington has gotten hit with lots of rain, caused a mudslide, tho no injuries, just several houses taken out. None of this is near your son out there, right? I hope your paperwork "magically" appears by early morning! It is frustrating and dissappointing I know, to have it all done and then disappears. And especially with so much PHI on it, that is scary. I dont blame your husband if he were upset.

She and her husband adopted a little 3 year old. She is very precious to say the least. There have been some problems, but they are both very capable people, and have a good, solid, strong relationship already built, and handle all that comes their way with integrity. I am so glad things are progressing so wonderfully for you and your husband. Do you already have someone in mind that you are trying to adopt? Or just to start the process and see where it takes you?
Our clinic specializes in a very wide variety. We may not have alot of providers in each of the specialties, but we do cover nearly everything. We are also close enough to the bigger cities, if need be, to transfer out within a short period of time. But we do also have a good high level and accredited trauma base, and as a cardiology/trauma unit.

I am truly thinking I have SADDs (the seasonal disorder associated with lack of sun!) I hope there is no snow too!
With the changes in healthcare, one of the big moves is going to total electronic medical records/prescribing, soon to all be mandatory. Our clinic is a very decent sized one,and our docs are separate from the local hospital, but are the main providers for them. We are also owners to numerous small clinics in the rural areas. I have been "volunteered" to helping IT into pushing this new programming out to all departments. There is so much behind the scenes to getting this into a LIVE setting. We spend great amounts of time testing, and trying to "break the system" before it goes LIVE, so that the kinks are already caught and the real system will run smoothly before and office and provider has to use it.
I will be thinking of you and your husband as you both go through the ordeal of adopting. It can be daunting, my niece and her husband did this a few years ago, but now have a beautiful sweet little girl. Good Luck!
