I went through Orlando.  Does anyone else know the ghost stories from there?

I gave away most of my uniform things, but I know I have my bucket hat packed down somewhere.  I just found two of my utility shirts, the ones before dungarees.  They have my full SSN stenciled in them!  They are so tiny.  Hubby, of course, can still fit into his uniforms, although the waistbands are still a bit tight.

His ship has been decommissioned, but our ET2 served on it, even worked on the same gear. Literally, the basic radar system was exactly the same!

i don't have the rest of my stuff..  did you know that theres a group for those of us who went thru orlando for boot on Facebook??

I still have some of my old Navy uniforms - working blues and whites, dress whites and most of the parts of my dress blues. I am completely disgusted by my memories of thinking I was "fat" back then. The waistlines on my old uniforms would just about fit one thigh these days.

Well, my rate doesn't exist anymore. And my last duty station was closed down and decommed. hmmmm maybe they are trying to wipe out our navy existance.

just found out my A school was moved to Pensacola from Millington...  and I know the MEPS center i enlisted thru is closed... my squadron has been decommed. my base just had the "official " decomm and is now shut down.  I agree with Arwen.. wonder if they are "trying" to wipe it out.

I knew my boot camp was closed and sold. Then I found out my A-school base was closed and sold. And my ship was decommissioned and about to be scrapped. Now I found out that even the MEPS center where I joined the Navy no longer exists.

I'm starting to wonder if they're *trying* to wipe out my Navy existance.

My daughter graduated boot camp this past March and it is so different from when I went through boot camp. Most everything is in the same building as where you live and of course mine was in Orlando, FL.
