My son has another year and a half at Tinker. AE VQ4. He is just now back in the line shack after his 90 day stint with the Honor Guard.

My friend will be transfering there soon, and would like some information on the schools there if she lives on base! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good Morning Tinker Ladies.....

Well news reports that the President is visiting OK today and my son said he is to come to Tinker and see some of the squadrons. Maybe it will be ours?? How exciting :-)

Hi all....my son is an NFO with VQ-7.  So nice to find all of you.  From what I have learned, this is a very close community.  He was winged last September and has been "on the road" several times now.  Look forward to hearing from everyone!

My son is currently in C School training for the next 6 months. He was in the shop and he worked the 2nd shift from 3pm -11pm. Before he was assigned to work in the shop he did is 90 day TAD assignment in the Geedunk (not sure if this is how you spell it). He manned the small store within the shop which offers drinks and snacks to be purchased while on duty. He actually had the same hours as in the shop. My understanding is that ALL new sailors must complete the 90day TAD assignment when they report to their first command (shore/sea duty).

His TAD assignement and work schedule will depend on the openings available for his rate within his squadron.

Hope this helps some but could be completely different for your son when he arrives.

My son is also there, but doing more training....his rate (AWV) seriously has a lot of training...sheesh!  Mine will be done with his current class in April and will then begin another one. Alysia would probably be able to tell you better about the schedule.
