Hey everyone, I finally got the call from Shawn. He got through "Hell" in his words. He said I wouldn't believe how skinny he is now. He couldn't talk long because he had to go and take a picture, told him I wanted to see the picture. Then said he had to go because he was starving and was going to go eat.

Whew, now that I can breathe again, I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you that kept Shawn and I in your thoughts and prayers. I know that it helped to get me through this difficult week. I'm just glad that I had friends here to pray for us. I am so relieved.

Chris, let us know when you get the call grom Greg.

Thanks Brian and everyone for your positive thoughts for Shawn and Greg. I know they could use it. I talked to Shawn last night and he is actually very "excited" about the adventure to come. I'll be a nervous wreck until I talk to him next week. Thanks again for your prayers and positive thoughts!

Sandra, I'm glad Edwin made it through albeit a little lighter...lol. Whew, now you can breath a little easier now....I can't wait til I get to do the same.

Chris, my thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and of course Greg this coming week.

Kari, how exciting. I am so happy for you that graduation is so close. My son, Shawn is in SERE class this week and then off to "Warner Springs" I guess it is.

Hmm...Chris, I haven't seen anything on TV about SERE. Probably a good thing. Shawn is actually excited about SERE....maybe it's just his way of dealing with the anxiety. Well anyways, I will keep the prayers going for all, the SERE class and all the parents.

Kari, I am so thrilled for Derik, that is so exciting!! I am sooooo happy for you that you get to see him at the end of May and graduation....so cool ! Shawn, Greg, and Edwin ( I believe) start SERE on Monday. I'm nervous for them. Keep them all in your prayers, I will do the same.

Deb, Congratulations to you, your son and his class. Can't wait to see my son get his wings. Where does your son go to next for his permanent duty station?

My son Shawn goes to SERE on May 4th with Greg. I am glad of that, that he has someone he knows going along. I have read some on SERE and now sorry I did. I just will have think about him being away and out of touch, sort of like when he was going through Seals training, although I still got to talk to him, but it was just to make sure he made it through another day of evolutions. I thought that part was hard, now this. Chris, we will just have to hope and pray that our sons get through minimally "unscathed". Sandra, I will pray for Edwin on April 27th also, if we all stick together, we can make it through this. ; )

Chris, those dates for FRAC and SERE for Greg are the same that Shawn has told me his are. Looks like they will be together for that training too.

Kari and Chris, yes it sounds like Matt, Greg, and Shawn are on the same path for FRAC and SERE. I somehow thought Frac took longer than what you're saying Derik is going through. Humm. That is good though, so your son will be done pretty soon, cool. Shawn is still looking for a car...he's not in a big hurry as when he was in SD last year he bought a brand new motorcycle. He only had it one month and it was stolen right from in front of the base. So he has spent the last year paying off what the insurance wouldn't pay. He has finally done that but now is being super picky about his next vehicle. Chis make sure that Greg has good insurance on his new car. Being located so close to Mexico, things can dissappear quickly. I sure am glad our boys know each other.
