Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful day!
Tiffany, your son will be joining mine as he is at JAX right now. He has been flying for a few weeks and loves it. I missed A-School graduation but we have told him we will be there for FRAC. He says it's a short ceremony but we do want to make at least one. We were going to go down for Thanksgiving but he had already make plans with his roommate. I guess he's growing up, sigh. But he will be home for Christmas and we can't wait!
Lydia, you are in our thoughts during this holiday season especially when it will be your first without your son. What a sweet message he put up on FB. You have every reason to be proud of the young man you raised! I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Well, once again it is quiet in here... but happens over the holidays... I love and pray for yall and your families and your kids at what ever point they are in this tough Pipeline. I know you all pray for our soldiers and think of them mightily over the Holiday Season... so far from home they are..... and just saying that made my heart swell up as this will be the FIRST holiday season that I will NOT see my boy... "Mamma I love you more than you know, but Duty Calls and I must Answer" that is what he put in my FB message a few days ago. such a good boy/man =) he has brought me to tears many times with his gentle but TOUGH spirit... Okay then love yall..... always here for you..... AND Have a Blessed Holiday.... So much to be thankful for!!!
Travels....... thank you for that awesome link.... !!!!!!!!!
ALNavy Mom.... welcome welcome..... hey, go up to the discussion forum just above the comment box here.... click on Vew All and read The Path of the Rescue Swimmer and also Phases ..... great info there that will answer alot of questions!!! Lots of mammas here to help you. Please never hesitate to holler sista.... my son has been out of this pipeline now for several years.. he is Sierra, attached to the Black Jacks HSC-21 on the USS Boxer... and many other moms here who are new, in the middle or near or at the end of this pipeline that can sure help you!!!!! But start out up there in the discussion forum if you have not already... xoxoxoxo
HI yall, yea... lots of great posts!!!! so many congrats are in order... we have Sierra's, FRS grads, A school move ups, Boot Camp PIRs, AND then old planks like me whose kid is out and about .... as he says.... burning holes in the sky (lots of flying) somewhere with the 5th fleet.... OH speaking of... be sure to refresh yourselves from time to time on OPSEC rules... up in forum... there are things that are more strick on the Spec Forces and Ops kids... and on ALL of them... I never repeat anything about my son, that is not posted by the Ombudsman FB site for the Boxer or the Black Jack site.... official sites that is! Anyhoooo... so great to see yall on here.... OH and the Pcola base as most all of the bases will go on what is called "Stand Down" the bases do not actually close but only minimum personal are left during Christmas... most of the kids that are in training all get to go home. They will have to submit a flight itinerary and put in a Chit or request .... DONT worry the COs will tell them but does not hurt moms to go ahead and get those itineraries worked up ... the kids will know shortly what those dates actually are... some already do know.. I cant remember... but it is about 10 days I think.... so be thinking about that... now the kids that are in the FRS prob will get leave also... just need to get their dates as they will be different from the kids in Pcola early training. Hope that helps...... my son messaged me on FB a few days ago, he is doing fine but they are all sick.... when one gets it they all get it as he mentioned hahaha... ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..... other wise all is well. B man has decided to put in his "Package" for BUDs/SEALs.... so he is working toward that and will work fast and furious on it once back stateside in SD Cali.... he already has his sponsors lined up (letters of Recommendation to the SEAL Command from officers etc) but it will be a LONG task... much to do.... well, I pray you all have a happy happy happy Thanksgiving... OHHHHHHHHHHHHH btw - please remember that the Pcola base has a USO near the NEX and they provide Thanksgiving for the kids if they want.... hahahahaha my silly kid and his bros went to Denny's??? Don't ask me why! hahahaha...... so AL Navy Mom and yall Pcola mammas remember to tell your kids although they will tell them also!!! Happy Happy Weekend yall!!!!
That's wonderful, GMom. It's great to have those plane reservations too. My son got his last week and already the price has gone up over $ 150.00. Last year he didn't get permission to leave until late and it cost us over $400.00 more than it should have so I am really glad this year is different. Enjoy your time with your sailor!
BIG DAY! Son graduated from FRAC in SD. There were 4 in his class! We couldn't be there, but he just called and said others took some pictures. I will be waiting for those. His orders came and he is staying in San Diego and he's fine with this. (YEAH, we get to go to Calif. for vacation next year!) He is also coming home to Florida for Xmas and New Years. He even made his plane reservations. We are THRILLED beyond belief, as we haven't seen him in person since February. He is excited to come home and see his friends and be back with us for a spell. Although we won't be together for Thanksgiving....we are all looking forward to December.
