Tweetybird, I've reached out to the NukeMom's.  There's probably one of them on the Truman who can help.  Hang on.  I'm getting ready to leave my office for the day but I'll keep an eye out and let you know.

Tweetybird, I'd join the Truman group on N4M.  One of those moms can probably help you with an address.  Are you on FB at all?  I just googled Truman CVN 75 and got several immediate hits.  One of them had a contact link for the Ombudsman.  But first I'd try the Truman group here.  Unless I'm losing it, the Truman is out of Norfolk and there are several FB groups for Norfolk.  I'm a member of a couple, let me know and I can help you join.

Tweetybird, I understand how you feel.  Is this her first deployment?

My daughter joined her ship in progress and sent me an email with her address.  If you don't have this information I'd suggest contacting the ships FRG.  Are you on a facebook page for her ship?

Feeling a little emotional my daughter got deployed on Wednesday don’t know where she’s going I know she’ll be gone for seven months. And she’s already emailed me wanting a care package. Does anyone know how I go about sending that care package does the post office have special boxes?

Anna, good point!

Holly to be specific, my daughter is a Nuke and even though they are not allowed cameras in the building we were allowed to have them for graduation.

Congratulations dkuulei29!!  Safe travels to PIR and I hope you thoroughly enjoy it!!  Take lots of tissues, and be sure to tell us all about it afterwards!!  I sent you a personal welcome on your profile page!!  Happy to see you here!!

Holly,

It depends on the base and what rating your daughter is in as far as whether pictures are allowed.  Blondie mentioned that she wasn't allowed pictures because her daughter was in Intel.  My son is in Intel also and we were only allowed pictures in certain areas.  Other graduations may not be as restricted.  Your daughter would be the best source of information as far as her graduation goes.  All members of your party will need picture IDs except for young children.  And make sure you have the lease agreement for the rental car with you since you won't have registration in your name.  It should also show proof of insurance or else make sure you have vehicle insurance proof that would cover the rental.  Base personnel may want to see that!!!  Like I said, depends on the base, the level of security they have, etc....  A school graduations aren't as big as PIR is but it is still a very special time for your sailor.  Enjoy!!!!

Holly my daughter graduated A school about 2 years ago and we were encouraged to take pictures.  Congratulations!
