GranmaFaye,

Welcome - so happy to have you here!!  JayDee has some good advice if you are looking for other members with sailors in the same Ship/Div.  I hope you are also on Bootcamp Moms group.  If you have other questions or concerns just about your granddaughter and her experiences then this group is for you!!!  I also sent you a personal welcome on your profile page.

GrammaFaye, welcome!  Have you joined the PIR group for your daughter's PIR date?  That group will be nothing but mom's whose children have the same PIR date as yours.  Lots of good information on there.

We're glad you found us.

Hello, I am trying to connect with Moms whose recruits are on Ship 03 / Division 259 and 260 . My recruit has been there since 6/27 . I have only gotten the form letter and box so far. No phone call except for the one from the airport.

Hi all, just trying to catch up.  Lots of good news.  A lot of good Advice......Just remember while we're here worrying, they have moved on.  lol

JayDee sorry about the stings, hope you're feeling better soon.   I'll join you for a Jack and coke. :)

Time is moving so slow for me, wait, wait, wait.... Can't wait to hold that baby!  Then wait till Joe changes commands to see exactly when he deploys and where to.....then decide what daughter and baby are doing....life is up in the air as usual.

Heading to Akron this weekend, taking 5 other people with us, joining up with our Eldest Son and DIL, planned a Fun weekend hoping the weather is good.

Weather here is rainy, storms last friday, then tornado/storms mon. and yesterday.  no spin set down so calling them straight line wind damage. I'll try to post pictures tonight.  Not everyone got wheat off and straw baled, so there goes prices!  beans turning yellow and dying in fields, corn rotting off at ground level...there goes prices!  The pipeline going through our state has everything a mess. and the stated is grinding down the roads and re-paving, 4 of our state roads in the area, can't get to any of the local towns without 2 detours.  LOL

Prayers and Hugs

Anna ~ not only recovered but she says it's bionic! US Navy has great medical care for my sailors unlike their parents with $8000 deductible.

Oleander ~ love hearing about your daughter & SIL. Happy to know there is still close bond even though she is shared. It must make it easier to go through this with a fellow sailor too. Neither of mine are married nor in a relationship even though I know hey would like nothing better.

Pdx252mommamoo ~ my daughter is also struggling to adjust to night shift & sometimes double shifts. Her Chiefs are very encouraging though. One is male and one is female. 3 years in and she still says she would not have it any other way so hang in there :)

Pdx252mommamoo,

So sorry she is feeling deflated - double shifts will certainly do that to you!!!  Hope it gets better for her real soon!!!

Oleander,

I'm glad you had a good family time with her before she left, and that you got in that one last hug!!!  Keeping her, and all our girls, in my prayers.  Let us know when you hear from her again and how she's doing!!!

I just take with my daughter on the phone this morning. She sounds so deflated. She says she's exhausted. I hate hearing that tone in her voice. She had pull double shifts. At least when I told her to stay strong she replied Always mom!
