Alas, I didn't hide the cookies from me! Had a few this evening. As I was making cookies today, it struck me that the reason my sons are cooks is that I so rarely make goodies. Christmas is one of the few times that it is done. When I used to bake a cake, my sons would ask, "Who's birthday?" I did make fruit cake and banana nut bread. So I'm plugging through.

Joanne, I received a Seebee embroidered. After Christmas, I will incorporate it into a pillowcase. I'll make one for the roommate too but no Seebee on it. Did you ever find out the size of the unit??

Pat, JM and KR ... have fun. I had fun with JM.

Hi Pat, I am planning on joining you and Jenn and KR for that drink. Driving up to Yosemite this weekend to see my Mom and sister for Christmas. I haven't decided whether or not I am driving back on Sunday or Monday before I come down to San Diego to meet everyone. I do have your information I was also hoping to get KR info too so that we can finalize plans. I am up for any type of resturant, but if we are going for those margaritas it looks like it will be mexican. I can find anything to eat wherever we go. Should be a lot of fun and we are sure going to miss our other ladies - Joanne, Anne, Blondie, DC and our other moms too.

Good afternoon!! Why is it that my to do list is getting longer? Could it be that things that were supposed to have been done days ago are being transferred over? I think I'm getting less and less done each day. Oh well!

Made oatmeal cookies today for Christmas and have hidden them, I hope, from Dear Hubby. Tomorrow I'll make some other kind, maybe sugar cookies. I figure that if each day I make a batch of cookies, by the time Christmas arrives I'll have a nice assortment. Hope, hope, hope!!

Pat, the countdown is getting close. I think that is wonderful and I am excited for you. Wish I could join you, JM and KR for a drink!! What fun. Go to an Internet bar, take along a laptop and chat with us.

Take care!

Pat,
One more day and a wake up!!! Do you like listening to music? When I flew out to WA I had my little IPod and headphones so I could tune out all the other noise and conversations going on in the plane and catch some zzzzz. And that three hour difference can take some getting used to. Many nights after Catherine went to bed I'd be up on the computer and then realize it was 2:00 in the morning according to my computer clock but it was only 11:00 where I was. But every morning I was wide awake by 6 am because my body thought it was 9 and the morning was half over!!!! No matter how hard I tried I couldn't sleep in any later!!!! Catherine wasn't too happy when I'd come in and wake her up early - she was on leave and wanted to sleep in!!!!! Oh well!!!
And yes, I put my jacket on today - - a little bit of snow coming down!!

Blondie,
I am glad it's not freezing rain!!! I'll take the cold as long as it can be dry!! When you get that wet, cold it just goes right through the bones!!!! And these old bones don't like that!!!!

Oh Joanne,
Do you mean you may be a MIL already or you may become one soon!!!

NavyMom,
So happy Sailor 2 is back. How long will Sailor 1 be home for?

Wow Joanne,
I'm glad she finally got her package!!! At least it was not lost for good. Wouldn't you want to know what took it so long?!?!? But she got it and that's good. Plus she has her Christmas stuff now so it was a double goodie for her!!!

Oh Pat,
Thanks for checking on the sandwich shop for me!!!

Pat,
We will be waiting on pins and needles to hear from you Friday that you are there in sunny, southern California!!!

Hey Blondie - it's cold up here!!! I forgot about how cold it gets here. Started out this morning it was fairly nice out so I just had a denim shirt over my t-shirt. After some shopping I went out to get in my car and it was freezing!!! Little snow flakes coming down. Teach me not to go out without my jacket!!! Funny how quick we forget!!! What's that Pat call is - - - oldtimers!!

DC,
Wish we could all plan a meet and greet that we could all meet each other!!! I'd love to give all those Navy mom hugs in person. Glad you got good brakes now. Especially in the winter!!!

Pat, I was giving Embry as an example. That was for a particular cancer specialist and there is absolutely no reason to believe that Jenn is dealing with with that. Now Johns Hopkins or the eye clinic in Miami are a different story all together. I will get the name of the Miami clinic for you from a friend who went there for a problem. JH saved my sister in law's sight.

To all of you getting to have some "face" time, I'm jealous! It's not that I don't want you to have the fun, I just want to be there too. Blondie, a laptop with a webcam would be perfect! Could have a video conference.

Went to Bangor for routine maintenance on the car. The brake pads turned out to be shot, took twice the time and more than twice the cost. Now we have safe brakes. It shot the day. Now I need to get some things done at home.

I'm very happy for you Pat!! I'm glad you will get to keep in touch with us a little bit. I guess we won't be surprised if we don't hear from you very much tho'!!!!

Remember several months ago when I mentioned about having Jenn check out to see if a submarine sandwich place is still in Coronado? It's called S & M Subs. IF you get a chance - and I do mean IF (cause I know you have lots of other things to do) but IF you get a chance check to see if they are still there. On the main drag just before you head out the bottom of Coronado to the Silver Strand. And if they are there you might want to stop and grab a sandwich - they were the best sandwiches Steve and I ever had. We would get lunch and go to the park in Coronado for a "picnic". Man - those were the days!!!!!
I hope you have such a wonderful time out there with Jenn!!!!
