DC made it home safely and I had a blast. The other marine parents made me so welcome I enjoyed myself very much. You are a dear lady and I am so glad I took the time to come down and visit. Would do so again anytime.

Time to turn in but I wanted to say that JM and I had a very nice visit. It was fun to see pictures of her family and to chat live! I did appreciate her willingness to come down and to meet among a bunch of Marine parents/loved ones. Takes a gutsy lady to do that and I am touched. Wish we could all get together!

Hugs back my friend, I expect pictures and a minute by minute of the whole experience. As you have said, there are times we live vicariously through each others experiences.

Puffy's adventures continue - My girl's mom got a letter, seems my girl has been craving fast food, so I thought I would try and find her at one of the local places. Yum, love those french fries. Wish me luck.

Ok Ladies, I have to do something to life my spirits, only 11 days til pir and I am in a funk, my daughter is going through some things in BC and it is the kind of stuff that just makes you want to reach across the miles to just hug and hold her. So I am going to put up a new puffy post and send it off with love from Puffy to my girl.

She is currently a chemistry major with a minor in spanish. Her recruiter and her advisor at Akron is now helping her change from a Bachelor in Science to a Bachelor in Arts still a chemistry major, spanish minor but adding on a certificate in linquistics. She really wants to fly helos but understands she will get training in all aircraft which she is really excited about. She will finish the next two years of school then go to OCS and then off to flight school. Now she will be following her Dad's footsteps of being an officer in the Navy!!! I'm out of children now to give to the military!!

KathyM,
You and I need to talk!!!! - - - - - - my other daughter just recently informed us that she is putting in her application to this same program and also wants to train to be a pilot. I had not heard of this program before so I'm looking for information. She is in her second year at the University of Akron in OH and will graduate in June of 2012. Her twin sister is already a sailor!!! What can you teach me???
