Thanks Blondie!  I had no idea !  Honestly, I finally "searched" on it and it kind of sounds like a "task master"....seems there might be a lot of opportunity to get yelled at for things others do, so I'm crossing fingers.  Hoping her years of soccer/team training will help her be diplomatic so she survives these last few weeks.

Oh, and Thursdays is when we get her mail too ! :-)

Anna, thank you for your reply, yes we were so bummed that the phone call shut off. We're not sure why, maybe an equipment problem.  She earned a 10 minute call for taking the section lead position, but had called multiple times until she got through, so maybe she ate up her time....bummer nonetheless.  She was an RPO and I don't know when it changed because we didn't get that far.  She did RPO from the beginning and has 3 weeks left, so no background or surrounding informaiton.  Guess we'll hear it on 4/15 at graduation (which I'm assuming she'll get too!).  It's nice to have confirmation from the moms who have "been around the block" already and hear their wisdom.  So, I'll say it again..."the old" moms (not age lol) are extremely helpful to us newbies, that I'm sure have made the "big bad boogie man of bootcamp" scarier than it really is.  I think I worry enough for the whole family. It's the whole thing of no communication.  I understand they are cutting the cord so to speak, but just a once in a while glimpse or email would be so nice. !  I'm hoping A school is less restrictive.  I got a letter yesterday and was so bummed, I sent her makeup for pictures on 3-14 overnight and on 3-20 she still had not received it, so there was talks about borrowing makeup from someone else.  I'm hoping she got it just prior.  I hope it didn't get lost in the mail!  Anyway, thanks again for your understanding thoughts and wisdom!

Thursday was our mail day too! My husband was home during boot camp so he'd get the letter, scan and send it to me at work and we'd read it together (she would write some in German and my husband couldn't read it) . Frequently her boyfriend would text me to ask if we got a letter. When he got home we'd compare the news.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter.

So happy to see new moms joining in on here!!!  We look forward to sharing this journey with you!!

Najul,

Sorry your call got cut off.  Those calls are so few and far between to have it end so abruptly seems unfair!!!  Being a section leader is a good thing.  There are many positions and sometimes recruits will change from one to another.  Someone must see something in her that makes her stand out!!!

Diane1970,

Oh those tears - we wear them with such pride!!!  We are so proud of our girls and their decisions, doesn't mean we like the separation and loss of communication!!! Don't know if you've received the form letter yet but start writing and number your letters so you can send them as soon as you get her address.  That way she can read them in order!!! What rating does she want to train for after boot?

Hollyraeb,

So PIR is getting real close for you!!!  I hope you enjoy the experience and the time you get to spend with your girl.  Where will she be heading after bootcamp??  Thursdays was when I'd get my letters also.  I think I was one week away from having a restraining order taken out by my mail carrier!!!!!  He was super sweet tho and knew how much I needed those letters!!!  You'll have to share with us all about her PIR!!!!

Hi Diana1970. I know how you feel. My daughter left 2/9 and graduates this Friday. It was so hard at first. I decided to feel closer to her I wrote a letter everyday since she left so when we got her address I would have a letter to send out everyday. I knew she needed that contact as did I. It was so hard going from talking everyday to nothing. I guess it was therapy for me. I cried everyday at nothing - lol and still cry. Thursday became my favorite day bc that's when her letters would come. But in my heart I am so proud of her but wow wasn't expecting this to be this hard on me. The other thing I did was put together a questionnaire to get my questions answered. It was so nice when she returned that. Hang in there. We all know what you are feeling.
