JayDee,
No, I knew that I wouldn't be able to ask the VA to reimburse me but I just didn't want to sit around waiting for another 3 months and loose the opportunity to finish up with this ortho Dr. So I look at it as a necessary expense to finally be able to know what happened.
Good Evening Ladies!!
Oleander,
So happy you had a wonderful visit with your daughter. Wow, 9 miles!! At the San Diego Zoo I can certainly believe that!!! My barracks roommate and I used to pack a little lunch and go to the zoo at least one weekend a month and I still don't know if we saw all of it. Did you get to wander around Balboa Park any???? You could probably do another 9 miles there!!!
Well, I have an update on my knee finally. I was approved through a program called Veterans Choice where they will make an appointment with a civilian doctor and the bill is paid by the VA. This is for veterans who cannot get an appointment with the VA in a reasonable time, or you are too far away from the VA. Sounds good (in theory) but I ended up battling with them for over two months before they finally scheduled an appointment for me. A week ago I got to see a very nice orthopedic specialist!!! And he wanted to order an MRI on my knee!!!! Just what I've been asking for since last September!!! Oh but wait, I have to have authorization from Veterans Choice for THAT, even tho they did authorize seeing the ortho dr!!!! And the backlog to get an MRI authorized is about 3 months!!!!! I finally threw in the towel, told the imaging folks I'd pay for the MRI myself, out of pocket, $300.00 worth, but I got my MRI today!!!! Now I get to go back to the Dr on Friday!!! Maybe, just maybe, I'll find out what's causing the constant pain and work towards a fix!!!!! Cross your fingers!!!!
Jean,
Oh no, I hope next week is much better for you! In the meantime enjoy your weekend!!!!!
Good Evening Ladies,
Sailor Son passed his Chief's exam!!! Now his record goes to the Selection Board and it's up to them. Keep him in your prayers please, we won't know anything until August or September. In the meantime, he's leaving for an overseas deployment, again, for 5 1/2 months.
Oleander,
I hope you have a fantastic time with your daughter!!! Enjoy!!!
Roliesmom,
What a sweet surprise from your daughter. I love getting flowers!!
JayDee,
Love reading the stories about hidden kisses and the awesome idea of putting them under your brother's collar!!
Jean,
Your weekend is here!!!
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Blondie you've got lots going on! Sorry about your daughters health, praying that it all gets resolved soon! Hang in there and enjoy the time you have with your daughter.
Good morning and Happy Friday to all!
I was 3 or 4 when my brother finished boot camp at Great Lakes. While he was waiting to be sent to Vietnam he would hitch hike home to Detroit to see us. When he left I would lift up the collar on his dress blues and store my imaginary friend Pekin there to keep him company. It was my little girl way of sending him love & hugs. SO maybe under the collar?
CryptoDad that's a pretty pink car. I think my daughter has some left over "Violet juice" that would look good on it. Or maybe Smurf Blue? A little smurf splat makes for good stories!
