We're up to a balmy 9 degrees - it was 4 when I got to the office. The brand new building I work in just doesn't seem to be equipped to stand up to the cold. My bosses office was 61 degrees when I walked in and he keeps the thermostat at 74. I put my dogs out and they practically peed on the porch and came right back in. Only my daughter's silly puppy made a lap around the house. Good news is they're making snow like crazy at our ski area, hopefully they'll get enough down to last us through early March.
Stay warm!!! It's getting cold here in FL too so I know it has to be cold up north. Luckily those tornadoes missed us!!!
Oleander,
That is such a cool story!!! It gave me goose bumps!! Thank you for sharing.
Well JayDee - looks like you're in good company with the rest of us!!!!
For those who get Monday off - enjoy your holiday!!!!
Oleander,
I've missed you but I sure understand your absence!!! So glad that you did spend every spare minute enjoying your girl's visit!!! I hope things settle down in her shop for her!! I know she has to be happy to be done with the galley duty!!!
JayDee,
Just to let you know - - I didn't laugh!!! There was a time when my husband and I both thought we had a spirit messing with things back when we lived in GA. One incident in particular - we were looking for a cap to a bottle we had just used and could not find it anywhere in the kitchen where it was moments before. After searching for awhile we gave up! The following morning that cap was laying right in the middle of the kitchen island. Nothing else was on the island except that cap so there's no way we wouldn't have seen it the night before. Never did understand how that happened. Thought maybe it was hubby's mom or grandmom both of who passed away just before that happened. So I believe you!!! Please keep us posted!!!
hellraiser,
Glad to hear you had similar experiences!! Now I don't think I'm so crazy after all!!!! Thanks!!!! I had our trailer blessed by our priest just before leaving Wisconsin!!!
Catsmom,
Yep, still here in Florida!! We picked a good spot since there is a really good VA health clinic here in Jacksonville so I've been able to get some tests done while I'm here. Hubby just applied for his VA benefits this week so we'll see what they find wrong with him!!!! ha ha ha just kidding!!!! I hope your little guy gets well soon!!! It's hard to be so far away!!! I'm sure some of you moms who have been here for awhile might remember Andrea. Her daughter had a baby boy and Andrea went to help out when son in law was on deployment. But the cool thing was that her daughter is only 30 minutes away from where hubby and I are so we got to go visit Andrea, her daughter and the baby!!! We had two really nice visits over the holidays until Andrea had to go back home. I keep telling her she needs to get back on here but she's been really busy!!! I hope you get a chance to see your girl and grandson again soon!!!!!
Jean and everyone - have a wonderful weekend!!!! Hope we all get some contact with our sailors!!!!!
Good morning everyone,
Happy Friday! hope you all have a wonderful weekend. missing my girl and my JJ. seems like it was so long since they were here. Justin has a cold, Crystal says it sounds like he is purring when he breaths. She took him to the Dr., she said his lungs sound clear. if it is not better by tomorrow, she will take him to the ER and have his chest X-rayed.
Blondie how are you? I am trying to get back into my early morning routine to visit here everyday, just haven't made it yet. I guess I need to get up at 3 am instead of 4.
Jean, how Aurora doing? how are you?
Anna, how is life going? still in Fl?
hope you all are doing well. gotta run, snuck in a few minutes here at work to say Hi.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone. God bless all of you and all of our Sailors.
Good morning ladies! Happy Friday!!!
Hellraiser - yes I'm wondering if it's mom. She died on our property and she loved my dogs (well all dogs). She's been gone 14 years in May, but maybe she's a little bored and feels like screwing with me.
As an update - I locked the dogfood in my 1/2 bath where it stayed. Last night I moved it back to it's regular spot. As of this morning when I left the house it was still there. I'll keep you all posted.
@jaydee was it you that lost a loved one not to long ago? Reason I ask is because it has happened to me, my mother in law would come visit. She passed away in jan 31 2012. My brother in law visits also (smell of dirty feet its him) my kids have seen there spirits, I have actually tooken pictures and their spirit would be in it. I know I sound crazy and i thought my husbands family was crazy with all this ghost hunting crap til i seen my brother in law for my own eyes and kiss my son. I freaked!!! ANyways maybe its someone saying hello and they are ok. Or you have a rat lol!!
Oleander Welcome back, Glad you had a great time with your sailor. Sending hugs to her. Hope the crew gets over their stink with her.
