Sarahmom, sorry you had to send off your daughter and couldn't go with her but at least you have another to help you get through those first few days. Enjoy your time with her.

Feeling sad today. I just sent my daughter off to MEPS. Because we live in Alaska the closest MEPS is 600 miles and we can only go by plane (no roads) we could not go. She is my last of 8 still at home. Her younger sister joined in June.Very happy she arrived yesterday for her first leave since joining. She was able to see her sister and will be here for the first week of being empty nesters.

Blondie totally agree on looking backwards at times. I was pretty much in denial and wanted to constantly live backwards. This book the last 2 days has helped me understand more. My husband called me up and said ha u finally see what I've been telling u the last 7 months. Everything will be ok, just got to have faith. I can actually feel the relief of my chest. I know it's all happened and I know i realized it but this has actual helped me accept it!

Yes I've lacked on myself also. I've gained weight in the last 7 months and now that Im better, time to shed the pounds back off. Hair appt and nails will be soon!!!

You ladies have helped me so much and I'm so glad I have yall to share my stories, and at times my sadness and yall understand it. So Thank you!

I wanted to share Something I posted today on my Personal Facebook page. I also shared it to one of the Navy sites I am on.

So Most of you know that on 1/7/16 I started Reading A 251 page book Called Be Safe, Love Mom- Elaine Brye. As of today I am on page 161.I have cried and I have had chills. This book is powerful and I suggest that Whether Your a Military family or Not you should read it!! I wanted to share a piece of what I've read/learned so far. This hits home to me because the last 6 months almost 7 have been hell! June 28th 2015 The day my Baby left home to follow her dream is the day My world came Crashing down!! I know this will be long but please take the time to read, It will show you what I haven't done that I should have done. As of Jan 1st I have promised not only myself but my family that I will do better, and I will take care of myself more, now that I know my Baby girl is going to be Just fine!!!

I've learned that Military Moms/families need to take time to nourish the Soul. We need to listen attentively to what our bodies and minds need (not what they want, but NEED). We need to develop an awareness of the Impact in our Surroundings and what Relationships have on our attitudes and outlooks.

We Have to take care of ourselves. We need time to find ourselves again. Once we find ourselves we need to get a hobby or find that passion that will help us cope. That hobby/passion will hold you together and help you cope with the hard times as your loved one is away on Duty or is Deployed. SO whether you prefer mild and calm, or Jampacked hectic and crazy(thats me), always Remember to make YOU a Priority!! You can not let your health and well being suffer because you have a Child/Loved one who might be in Challenging or Dangerous Situations. Always Remember Prayer is the KEY!!

Remind yourself you Are Not Alone in this. Your Family, Your Friends, and Your Navy Family are also sharing the same Challenges and Sacrifices that you are. Hopefully your loved are there for you, In whatever it may be, Whether its just encouragement, a helping hand, or a shoulder to just cry on. Always remember if your Family and Friends aren't there you can still count on your Navy family to always be there!!

Stay Away from the Negative, Pessimistic, and drama filled people that surround your life. Its for the Best!

Remember when your loved one is Away/Deployed stay focused on the Positive rather then worrying about all the bad things that could/might happen. Visualize the Homecoming, plan it, stay focused on that and dont let go. Immerse yourself in the positive, look upward and outward rather inward or down, Look forward rather then backwards. Do your best at keeping your light shinning bright, So Your Sailor can keep theirs Bright too as they continue to make our world a better place!!

So my to my Family (Especially my hubby and my kids) & Friends I Apologize to you for whatever I may have put you through the last almost 7 months. Sorry it took so Long. I'm truly Thankful I seen this book posted on one of my Navy sites and decided to get it and read it, cause honestly the last 2 days it has helped me find my way and Realize that everything is going to be ok!!

To My Children always Remember to Be safe, Love Mom

Thanks for Reading this
Brenda

Yes Jean,

I've heard of other people who gets shots to help with the pain for 3 months or so.  I'm waiting until next week and if I haven't heard from ortho I'm going to call them.  I still have pain in the back of the knee especially when I have to bend my leg 90 degrees.  I heard one lady talk about a Baker's cyst but just said to wait until after PT.  I did all the PT they asked for, the muscles work just fine but the joint is still giving me trouble.
