I had no idea that PIR meant no sleep for the weekend!  :)  We were not able to take the puppy as my oldest daughters boyfriend was unable to join us.  Between getting up at the crack of dawn for PIR and then going to see my daughter off at the airport I probably got 5 hours sleep.  Our of dumb luck, my husband was on the same plane as she was so they got to see a little more of each other.  With it all behind me I realized that there are things I'd have done differently if I'd known.  Also, they played a joke on my daughter and told her she had to stand watch from 4-6 on Friday.  We returned her to base with plans to sleep at the hotel then pick her up for dinner.  Fortunately we lingered at the NEX because she called us right after we got out of the parking lot and on the main road to say that they'd been playing a joke on them and it was not necessary for them to stand watch.  Personally I think that was a crappy joke when we hadn't seen our kids in 8 weeks.

But all is well,  She's at her A school and it's odd getting texts and calls from her after 8 weeks of almost total silence.  She is still a happy child, but I see changes in her.  One funny thing, she has never worn make up but purchased mascara and wore it to PIR.  Made me laugh when she batted her eyelashes at me and asked how she looked.  Who'd have thought that joining the Navy would make her into a girlie girl?  :)Elf%20-%20Copy%20%282%29.png

Prayers and hugs to you Hellraiser. We raise our children right and give them all the tools but ultimately they have to learn through their own experiences. I have watched my oldest stumble, fall and pull herself back up. Its all we can do and that's how we leaned too. Blessings to all.

Morning. I want to ask for prayers for my world has been turned inside out. As most know my daughter was supposed to graduate MA school yesterday well unfortunately that didn't happen.. b4 anyone ask here is what went down...I spoke to my daughter at 1215 on Thursday . She said she would be done with class and graduation practice around 2-3pm. I told her perfect I would be there around 230. I texted her at 245 to let her know I was there. No answer, fine she's still going through what will go down for graduation. 4 came no answer, 5 no answer, 6pm my family is starving so I went to speak with the DOD (I believe that's what they call them) he informed me that some was still at the hall. Gave to details just said there running behind. Ok fine we went and got dinner. About 7ish still hadn't heard from my daughter. I knew something was wrong. Momma's always have that feeling. Still wasn't getting an answer. Finally 9pm, I still hadn't heard from her, and I want answers. Some wrong is she ok was my question. Finally the DOD told me there has been an issue and several students are talking with investigators. My heart sank. Apparently it's been an on going thing for a while with the sailors at schooling. As soon as most got off base liberty drinking and having sex became an issue, my child was not involved in that thank god. Several would come back drunk, some sneaking off base while not on off base liberty. Several went and got tattoos the 1st off base liberty. Well a sailor last week files sexual assault charges, it went under investigation and Thursday roughly around 3pm that's when everything went down. The sailor who filed sexual assault charges was found to have lied about it. It never happened. So in order to hopefully save their ass they decided to start snitching on the ones who were drinking, as that was being investigated it was a chain reactionaryI . 22-25 sailors were pulled in the investigation. It was my worse nightmare. We learned alot yesterday by talking with the Senior Chief I believe it was, hell it might have been the chief, I'm not real sure. Anyways my daughter was told by others that had gotten tattoos earlier it was ok as long as it was covered, last week some sailors went and got a tattoo. Unfortunately it was against the rules. Because there was so many sailors in trouble they had to call a chief mast ASAP. There was 14 sailors that got to graduate the other 12 where the ones on trouble . The graduating sailors had to go watch the Mast, and I believe some others as well. There are still 10 sailors who are on schooling who haven't received there punishment yet. I wish this was a nightmare. I've told my sailor from day 1 when I got to see her the 1st off base liberty, then sailors are no good. You know us parents get that vibe. My sailor no mom there pretty awesome down to earth. Well if that was the case we wouldn't be here. So needless to say the 12 sailors who was supposed to graduate of course didn't and have been kicked out of the MA course, are now undes. Everyone went down in rank, lost pay, ect. The 10 sailors who are still in schooling haven't been dealt with yet. Everyone makes mistakes, we r human, you learn from them, you pick up the pieces and move on. You become someone better. That's what my daughter will do. Her MA career isn't over this is just a huge bump to get over. 6 sailors out of the 12 are getting Medical discharged so they dont have to pay the price. My daughter has decided she got the tattoo she will pays the consequences. I'm proud of her regardless of this set back. She has stepped up and will learn from this. She's not taking the easy way out.

Thanks ladies. Hugs given. Getting ready to take her back. Really hard to let her go again. She's the same happy, bubbly child I have missed. We did pile on the bed at the hotel and have a chat. I sure miss those days.
