Jaydee, my daughter was the commanding officer last yr in her NJROTC. Shes now in A school.her sister is in her 1st yr of NJROTC so I texted her Senior Chief and he said No its not inappropriate but it's not right because he hasn't served In the military.

Oleander I think he does. And he looks great in it too. Maybe my daughter doesn't want to share the day? Ugh. Kids!

hmmmm - all I know is that at my daughter's PIR in May there were many uniformed family members in the stands. I'm sure one of the more veteran mom's here will have the right answer. Does he want to wear his uniform?

Oleander, his SNSI is all for it and was going to give his uniform a final inspection next week. My daughter just flipped and said he would look like a poser. I don't agree with her since he's obviously NJROTC but that's why I'm looking to the community here for their experience and knowledge.

JayDee, don't know why I didn't see this other post from you til now -- is there any way he can ask ROTC? They should know. My daughter's boyfriend attended her PIR with us too, he was a Marine in the Reserves and was supposed to wear his dress blues but at the last minute the Marines had all Reserves turn in their uniforms due to a security breach. He attended in civilian clothes but otherwise would have respectfully worn his uniform.

Good morning. I'm hoping that some of our experienced ladies can help me with a question. My daughters boyfriend is attending PIR with us. He is an officer is his high school ROTC and it was suggested that he wear his dress blues to PIR. When I said something to my daughter, she said she wasn't sure it was appropriate. His uniform insignia clearly identifies him as NJROTC, not as someone dressing up or impersonating an officer. Thoughts? I certainly don't want to let him make an incorrect or embarrassing decision here.

Good news! My daughter just called and has passes battle stations and is a sailor now! I'm so excited! Unfortunately I have laryngitis and could only squeak at her. Then I accidentally hung up on her! Something tells me she called her boyfriend after that.
