Blondie, we get season change in the higher elevations. I’m just glad I don’t have to deal with sub zero temperatures. I lived in North Dakota for a few years and that’s when I fully realized how much I liked the desert! I hate the heat, but it beat Vegas and Phoenix temperatures:). I love the snow, but hate driving in it! Love to play in it though! God Bless to you and yours!
Oleander, even better this year, because it wasn't at my house! LOL We stayed 6 hours and then scooted out. when you live alone , it's a lot to get use to that noise level again. But it was fun seeing how all the kids had grown! We had 3 babies to pass around, with all the complaints, I' just got him, you've had a turn....
Love the picture, yes take advantage of her being around, cause we know all about those dry, lonely times. This will be our 1st Christmas with Tahlia So.... SO HOPING they get to come!!!!
Stbl, I LOVE the snow and so do my kids and grandkids. It's this in between and up and downs I dislike. Also the fact that we both still working, every year it gets harder to get up early, go out in bad weather and clear cars to make the track to work. But wouldn't give up our country living or the changing of the seasons. Each one is Beautiful. Just some are better observed from inside as we get older. LOL
Oleander, so precious! JayDee and Blondie I’m glad I live in the desert! Thank you for preparing me for the future and what it may look like for me.
JayDee, I think we've decided we live close enuff to have the same storms! LOL It's crazy right now. I like the 20's and soft fully snow, it's easier to shovel, no ice and better on my aches and pains and breathing!
Can't say I blame her either, glad you got some time with her tho. Lucky for us, our SIL wants to come home, makes this Mother-in-Law VERY happy!!!! He's been gone since May and will have to do 3 more trainings(out of state) before leaving again next June -Feb. 2020. So he figures it's now or never, well now being for Christmas, IF he's back in the states in time. We all KNOW how the Navy works! But hoping on hope and letting Faith have a chance. LOL Alreaady planning next Christmas in VA. :)
Blondie we're having the same weather deal. Two weeks ago it was an ice storm. We were without electric for 4 days. The bad part was that my sailor was home and I had a lovely lasagna waiting in the fridge for her, just needed to bake it. Finally got to it, thankfully it rode out the storm in the freezer.
We're supposed to be close to 70 this weekend, today 14 degree wind chill.
Sounds like you had a good Thanksgiving. Our sailor was supposed to be home through yesterday, but her husbands sub came in for one week only, you guessed it, right in the middle of her leave. So she left us to go see him. Can't blame her but darn the timing!
Sounds like everyone is hearing from or visiting their sailors. Yeah!!!! For you new mom's, each day is torture but Soon, you'll get to Hug them and it's Amazing! I'm waiting for Christmas Eve and Praying he gets his leave and my Precious babies can come home! He's do back in the states soonish.
WE celebrated with siblings, nieces ,nephews and greats. Very big family and lots of noise! Winter is here in Ohio, 17 degrees and wind chills at 3 above(6am) not suppose to get to 30 today but calling for warm up this weekend, which means we'll have to go through that rain. ice, thing again. Not looking forward to that! We have a blanket of snow, let's keep it!.
Well I hope you hear from her soon!!! Keep me posted!!!
Thanks Anna, I bet your right about the delay due to the holiday. I hadn't thought about that..
Melissa,
Sorry you haven't heard anything yet. I thought it was about 2 weeks after arriving that the form letters were sent out. It may take a little longer because of the holiday but you should be getting something very soon!!!! There should be some newer Moms on here that would have more insight as to how things are done now. I really hope you hear something early this coming week!!!!
Anyone know how long it takes to receive information about my daughter's graduation? She arrived at bc on Nov. 7th. Haven't received a call or letter. Thanks to anyone who can give me a update.
