Blondie, she's adorable!  LOVE that picture.  I'd leave my options open too, maybe Virginia is in your future!

Since Joe will miss Tahlia's 1st birthday they did picture early, this was my sneak preview.

Great news Anna!!  Grin and bear it. Just remember how LONG it took you to get this, and what you've already been through. Us Navy Moms know how to grin and bear it and keep going.  We're rooting for ya.

Mia, hope everything works out the way she wants it to.

Oleander, praying for the best for your daughter and shipmates.

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts for Hubby.  Joe like Anna's son will be deploying soon-ish.  He's gone out a couple times with his team and will leave early April for a 3 week trip then leaves in May. Soo... maybe husband can get a job in VA. lol  I like leaving my options open. :)

Happy Saturday everyone.

I'm sure it feels like baby steps Anna but as JayDee says, all your hard work will pay off! Prayers that you'll feel stronger every day!

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's job Blondie - prayers being sent to you all that he finds something soon!

My daughter's doing well JayDee, thanks for asking! They've already been underway again, just got back after 2 wks out there. She's definitely happy to be in San Diego, there was talk about being re-home ported.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and hears from their loved ones!

Anna so glad to hear that your knee is progressing!  It's a blessing to have a good therapist.  Keep pushing forward, it's hard now but it will pay off soon!  Prayers for continued progress.

Comment by Anna on March 23, 2018 at 10:17pm

Thank you for the continued prayers!!  I have a real love/hate relationship with my physical therapist!!!  She is a lovely lady, very friendly and she's complimentary when I struggle to stretch my leg to bend as far as I can endure the pain.  Then she'll say - ok you did great, now let's add weights!!!!  Or some other madness!!!!  I can do a full rotation on the bike and got my knee to bend 104 degrees now.  She wants me to get to 120 or 124 degrees.  I am walking with no walker or cane now, I just have to take my time and really concentrate on walking correctly.  I can hear her yelling at me "Bend that knee"!!!!!!

Mia,

Far different circumstances than yours, but our family moved while Catherine was in bootcamp.  She knew it was coming and she had to pack all her stuff before she left.  Only major problem was with the mail - I never got my form letter from her but I was able to call RTC and get the info I needed.  That was before N4Ms was in existence if you can believe that!!!!  When Catherine came home after her A school she had to sleep on the couch cause we were in a little 2 bedroom apartment, but she didn't mind!!!  Unfortunately that was the only time she was able to come home!!!!  Now she's in Oklahoma with her twin sister, and hubby and I are living here as well so I get to see them both!!!!!  It's so hard when our babies grow up and leave the nest!!!

Blondie,

So sorry to hear about your hubby!!  Hope he finds something soon!!!

Beautiful picture JayDee.  I love looking at the snow fall from inside a nice warm dwelling, especially when I don't have to go out unless I want to!!!!!  Hope you thaw out soon!!!

Found out today that the Sailor Son will be heading to Japan very soon for deployment!!!!  Still don't like deployments and he has done so many!!!!!  Will be gone for 6 months!!!

Comment by Mia on March 23, 2018 at 12:44am

Technically, she went in as reserves, Aircrew. However, because she wants to USE her job, she wants to go on multiple deployments. Then, she plans to apply for officer candidate school. She has dreams, but at 20 with two bachelor degrees she also has 4-yr-old  siblings with special needs that she is very fond of. She wants home to be 'home base' at least until all the littles are older, or till more teens move out and we are a bit more portable. Having teens tied to jobs makes travel more difficult.

Comment by JayDee659 on March 22, 2018 at 7:53pm

Mia that's great ed at that she'll be able to stay at home. What will she be doing?

Comment by Mia on March 22, 2018 at 7:40pm

Lol...she doesn't have a clue - but she's also grown up with us moving - usually Thanksgiving day with frozen turkey sandwiches!

We are in a position where it would be really wise TO sell, especially given the needs of our children. And the number of children. So I don't think it will be a total surprise, but it will still be 'different,' and we want her to come home feeling at home...not an outsider. She plans to live at home whenever possible, which I love! And she has a strong connection with our littles.

Comment by JayDee659 on March 22, 2018 at 7:25pm

Mia I've not had that experience but I know I've seen other comments about the same situation. Hopefully one of those moms is on this group.

Sounds like your move came about quickly,  does your sailor have any idea that this could he happening?
