Joanne,
Glad you finally got to talk to K. I got to talk to my daughter in WA by Skype Christmas morning. She called me just after she got up and I got to watch her open her gifts. It was so nice to see her face after opening each one. Now if they can just figure out how to reach through those cameras and hug!!!!!

Jane,
I am so glad your boys made it safely. With the recent news I'm praying for all holiday travelers flying back home - especially any of our military!!

Jane,
We had some pretty snow on the ground - only a few inches but not enough to stick on the roads - but today we have driving rain and gusty winds so all the snow is being washed away!!! I hope people's decorations don't blow away!!!!

NavyMom,
Thank you for your wonderful Holiday message!! So sorry your daughter's gifts haven't shown up yet. There is still hope - if she has a regular address the post office should still deliver Priority mail even on Christmas day!! Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I'm wishing all you Navy Moms a very Merry Christmas and peace and joy during the holiday season. Yes, some days are still sad for me as well. My daughter also has duty this weekend and is not looking forward to being all alone on Christmas day, but I know we will be able to talk tomorrow!!!

KR,
I understand how you feel and believe me I don't think comments made were intended to be harsh or rude. I also was very concerned about not hearing from Pat. When you think about it, it is a most wonderful reality that we all care so much for each other even tho' we don't know each other face to face. And I do think mear typed words can invoke different thoughts/feelings by different people. I am sorry that you were hurt.

That said - typing is very challenging when I can only use 2 fingers on my right hand. I'm glad I got the bread dough mixed earlier since I have to do that by hand!!! I'm also really happy you got an offer on your house already!! Our condo was on the market for 14 months before we were able to get it sold. I will keep you in my prayers that this goes by quickly and smoothly for you!!!

Lisa,
Keeping your daughter and all our sailors that cannot be home for the holidays in my prayers. My daughter has duty all weekend also. But she said since she has no one at home waiting for her she is glad that those with families will be able to spend it together. They do make us so proud don't they?!?!?!

Joanne,
So glad you got to hear from K!!! My daughter was able to bandage my finger for me - that was why she was beside me at the sink. We couldn't get the bleeding to stop but finally it is. I just changed the bandage again and it looks like it will be fine - no stiches. Unlike the Christmas of several years ago when I needed 14 stiches in my hand!!!
