Joanne, I have been bitten by several fire ants. They hurt, get inflamed and depending upon how allergic you are to them, it can take days for the swelliing to go down.

Good description of a fire ant bite, Marianne.

NCIS this evening ... can't miss that.

My husband just LOL when I told him what raineegal said .. He said don't take it out on the poor mailman, It isn't his fault and you don;t want him to hide other letters.

Bad day at work today. Came home to find the kid in a box on the porch. Not sure if I am ready for it. Found out today that my best N4M's friends' D will not be in the same PIR as mine, even though they were there 2 days apart. Very dissappointed. Know her ship 07 and Div. 005 already but her PIR is 11/20. Should be thankful it isn't Thanksgiving week.

Marianne,
Missed your comment about L leaving. I know how hard it is to see them off again. For a short while it is so nice to have them back in our daily lives but then they have to go off again to protect us!!!! I'm sending you hugs also but having a good cry is just necessary sometimes!!! :)

Good afternoon Ladies,
I missed everyone the last couple days. Hubby and I were in northwestern MD helping our oldest son and dil move. Of course new place; no cable, no internet!! Last time I was checking in here was on Friday night!!!
I did get caught up on all the posts but didn't take notes and can't remember all the news so I can't really respond to everything. I'm glad everyone seems to still be doing ok - except:
Blondie,
So sorry to hear about your aunt. I am sending big hugs your way - hope you can feel them!! You have been through so much this month - I am so sorry!

Pat,
Sorry you haven't heard any news from Jenn yet. What a girl tho' to not let this get her down or stop her. Don't know if I would be able to handle it all like that!! I say girl but we all know what a special young woman she is!!!

Looks like several members had birthdays this month. Happy Birthday wishes to Marianne, Raineegle, and JM. Hope I didn't miss anyone!

Linda,
I loved the picture of the young lady with the frog!! That smile is contagious!!

DG,
I like the security discussion you posted above. It is good that we keep security first and foremost in all our discussions. I had heard other moms comment other places about rdcs in particular reading N4M posts. But then this is a Navy site so we have to accept that they would be here also.
Well, I have a bunch of catching up to do here at home and get some groceries so we can have dinner for the rest of the week!!! Will check back in again later!

Joanne, I did get the cheat sheet and can read it. Many thanks. Now I need to print it out.

Did a pool workout this morning and now I'm ready for a nap!

Good Morning Ladies, We will actually have cool weather here in CA today. Nice change. I get my steel cut oatmeal from our local Jamba Juice shop. With blueberries on top it taste great. Since I have eaten both, yes I agree Steel cut taste better!.
Have Ship/Div but still waiting for the Kid in the box and letter. Have yet to see any Div 005/ Ship07 yet. Low number, must be for new year. Good Day ladies, time to go teach the kiddies.

Joanne, I received an unidentified document. Is that the cheat sheet? Because of risk of viruses, I only open things that are identified. Thanks.

KR, Hope you're doing well from your cataract surgery. Mine made all the difference in the world!! I am so sorry M. is being made to do PT!

That s terrible news about the former sailor. How sad for his family.

I'm too far behind!!

Kr, they aren't steel oats but the way the oats are cut. They are steel cut. This means that the kernels of oats are cut across rather than rolled like old fashioned quaker oats. It makes it have much more texture if it isn't cooked too long!

Joanne, where's the cheat sheet? With all the name changes we really need it!!

Not a problem, she and I have become great friends and sounding board. Asked her if I could post before I made the comment. We were actually texting while I typed.
Joanne - picture is of a baby puffer fish (dried after death) that she received from her BYF. I sent her a picture with a note on it saying that Puffy has been looking everywhere for her. I plan on taking it to a bunch of places (Last job, baseball stadium, starbuck's, Disneyland, Arby's where her kid brother works) as if it is looking for her. Thought it was a cute idea, plan on putting it at the top of each letter I send.
