Blondie, travel safely!

Comment by Blondie on April 6, 2017 at 10:06am

I agree with all of you.  I know that sounds weird but everything  ya all said hit home.  It's all ruff, but we grow with our girls and some how get through it.  And then we're on the other end looking back going, "where did the time go?"

I didn't have this site at the beginning of our journey and am So Glad we have it now.  We really Understand because we are going through it or have gone through it....makes that Sisterhood even stronger.  I consider all your girls mine too now.

bb glad you made it back home safely and enjoyed your trip, pictures?  And what a Wonderful welcome home!

JayDee, So Happy for you and Hubby.  I know it's an adjustment and you'll get on each others nerves but best thing for us (me really) was when my husband quiet travelling.  We were married 29 years before we got a real vacation.  So start planning!!!!  And now we go whenever we can.  LOL

speaking of which, we are heading out this afternoon to go south.  Sailor is not in labor yet, but over due and they won't let her go much longer.  We have to be back by the 23rd because of other commitments, that can't be changed, this baby was suppose to come before this.  Well it can't be helped and we wanted our 2 weeks with daughter  :)

I'll be back on sometime this weekend with news I hope.  Hope everyone hears from their girls SOON.  and if you have them HUG them!

bbcregular, I think you're right.  Each stage has it's own special purpose and all lead up to letting go.  Thank for putting that into words!

Sounds like you had a great trip!  My husband has just taken a local job.  It's in the same field as he's been but all local so he's home every night.  Once we get used to it, we'll really like it!  Also, he will have vacation time so we can plan a vacation for the first time in 13 years.  Looking forward to that!

Prayers for all. Deployment is definitely the hardest I think, but my daughter grew so much during that time! I spent a lot of time sending her care packages.
.be sure to include lots of spices which she loved. And also holiday decorations:). Anything to make her feel you:). The Skype calls when they are onshore are awesome...but unfortunately not often. And sometimes it may take a week or longer for an email. But hang in there ladies, it is survivable:)!

I am so encouraged reading all the posts. It assures me that I am not alone with my heavy heart and tears for my girl.

Update, I am back home in NC after 7 months of travel in the RV. Wishing we were back on the road and already planning the next trip. Sailor is at the end of post class and will take tests next week. Prayers requested. Hopefully she will come home before going to her first duty station far far away.

Ladies, I think all stages of this Navy life has its special challenges for us Moms. BC begins a special process of letting go and developing a new relationship. A school proves to us that our girls have a special strong will and determination to persevere and meet the highest standards of any job they will ever have. I am waiting on that first deployment to seas and countries unknown but know that all our Sailors have been trained to the highest standards.

Yesterday was my return to our home church. What a blessing that the prayer emphasis was on our military and first responders. The first name on the list was "my girl"!! What a wonderful blessing and welcome home that was!!

Again a big thanks to all my Navy Mom family. You are the best.

With a first deployment staring me in the eyes, I'm thinking that this will be the hardest part of it all.  The good news, they are out with the finest Navy in the world.  They have good people around them and are surrounded by top technology and, yes, weaponry.  Our girls have chosen an exciting, dangerous and adventurous life.  We have to let them go and know they are in God's hands.  Then we drink a margarita and look to our Sea Sisters on N4M to help us cope.

Thank you to all my Sea Sisters!  I wouldn't have felt this strong after 2 years had it not been for all of you.

1994Mom, you nailed it, 'heavy heart' that is how I feel every day. My daughter has been at A school since the beginning of March, will be there until September, and I know deployment will be very tough. I am seeing sailors off to Japan and Guam for 2 years, just have to keep telling myself, she is loving it, it's all good. Probably doesn't help she is our only child. You ladies are awesome, keeping each other strong.

Blondie I have concerns about that with my sailor after boot camp, that would be so hard I don't know how you did it just like your daugher asked. But I am defiantly glad to have found this site to be able to net work which has helped me understand a little bit more on this journey my daughter has chosen, my heart is heavy at times and I am only in since March 13th so about 3 1/2 weeks.

Oh not at all Blondie! Lots of tears and prayers!

Comment by Blondie on April 5, 2017 at 2:15pm

I meant no disrespect Oleander,  BC is hard.  But I don't like to give false hope.  Deployment is Scary!  My daughter went straight to the Middle East for 2 years and then Japan for 3 years and finally came back to the states. 5 years to the day (into the same airport she left from).  Communication is very iffy.  Even she said when she got back, "Mom, how did you do it?"  I have no idea.  LOL  Lots of tears and Prayers.

Hugs
