Blondie we've been getting those too. Seems like there's a lot of lightning and wind then a little rain. Then it's hot and muggy while we have to go out and clean up.
Well I'm beginning to wonder about our long range travel plans. We were going through the mountains of WV and had a tire blow out again!!! This time it didn't shred and didn't mess up any of the trailer trims but it just popped.
JayDee,
We missed Tamerack cause right in that area of the highway I was checking my phone trying to find an rv place near the highway to buy a new tire. We had the spare on but hubby doesn't want to drive far on the spare. I didn't even see when we passed the place. I was going to suggest a potty break there but completely missed it!!!! We ended up stopping in Charleston and got a new tire. Turns out the tire gauge hubby was using must be real cheap. He had just checked the pressure that morning before we headed out and it turned out our tires were all over pressure. One was 10 pounds over what his gauge said. We were right next door to an auto parts store so we bought a new industrial tire gauge and a set of those hazard triangles to set up when we have to pull off, onto the shoulder. I hate standing there watching the big rigs come flying past us. They shake the whole trailer and scare the "you know what" out of me!!!!!!! Any way, we are back in my home state - Ohio, right on the bank of the Ohio river!!!! And yes Blondie, that storm hit us as well!!!! Wind, lightning and torrential downpours!!! At least we were dry!!!!
MartiB,
So glad you get to help your girl and grandson!!! We hope to go back to WA this fall - around September cause our sailor son will be coming back from his 5th deployment and the squadron is transferring to Whidbey!!! We want to spend a couple weeks visiting!!! Maybe if you are there at the same time we can meet!!!!!
Oleander,
I would love to get back there where you are. That part of the country was so pretty especially along the river!! And I'm always up to seeing Spyder again. Her and I met in Gila Bend when we went through there last year!!!! Had a very nice visit and a nice lunch!!!!
Blondie and JayDee, please stay safe!
Blondie, I'm glad you're all right! We had what was probably the same system hit us last night too. According to the weather there are some really bad ones coming tonight too. Hang on to your hat!
C'mon back to Vegas Anna! After a couple weeks of wrangling a 2 yr old I'm pretty sure you'll be ready for a cold one. Spyder is close, we might be able to lure JayDee, Blondie, and all.
Or....Hey Blondie, maybe we should party at your house. It sounds like you have all the good stuff! haha!
MissNavyMom,
Oh darn, I just saw your message today!!! Haven't been on the computer the last few days!!!! We stayed at the KOA campground right there by the safari park!!! It's a nice campground, but hilly. The pool is nice!!! We hiked to the Natural Bridge, very impressive, and then on to the falls. Then we drove over the Bridge just to say we did!!!!! Yesterday we did the caverns. That was also awesome. Hardest part was keeping up with the tour guide (who is much younger than me and doesn't have any problems with steps!!) Now we are just outside Beckley, WV and head to Ohio tomorrow. By Monday we will be at our son's place just north of Cincinnati!!! Hope you enjoy Natural Bridge and the area!!!
JayDee,
Beautiful picture. One thing that impressed me so much was when I visited Catherine in WA back in Nov 09. It would rain somewhere, sometime everyday no matter where we went. And there were always rainbows around after. I've never seen so many rainbows in one place as I did in WA!!!
Oleander,
I'll be spending the next two weeks with my 3 year old granddaughter!!! I'm sure she'll keep me going!!
I had my twins just before my 37th birthday. The boys were 11 and 6, and the girls were my last not only because of my age but the fact that there were two of them. Doctor said twins were due to my age and if I got pregnant again I'd probably have triplets. Trust me twins is enough to want to insure that won't happen!!!!! But I adore my girls and we are so close!!! I love how they refer to each other as their wombmate!!!
spyder,
I love those "liquor stores" also!! Would love to go back to Vegas sometime!!!
Marti_B,
So good to hear from you again!!! So sorry to hear about your daughter's divorce. That is always very hard to see our kids go through something like that. But I'm glad it's all over now and that the Navy supported her through this all!! Are you close enough that you can get to her place easily? It's really great she has you to help her out!!!
Blondie,
You need to get tequilla made from agave - it's the roots of cactus plants!!!
