JayDee,

Thanks, I will let you know!!  That's a cute story!!  So maybe she left them behind so you can send them to her along with a note, or a batch of homemade goodies?!?!?!

Anna - I hope kitty is okay!  If you need a vet recommendation locally let me know and I'll ask my daughter who she uses.

Blondie & Oleander - after I woke up from my nap in my daughters bed I noticed that after being home only 17 hours she'd left a bra, panties, gym shorts and a cami on the floor.  Really?

Thank you ladies for all the well wishes.  I do think we got very lucky.  We are in a pretty remote area of VA - not even a Starbucks!!  Closest one is a half hour's drive away!!!  We do hope to get some sightseeing in while we're here tho!!

Oleander,

So sweet that you had a wonderful time with your girl and I totally relate to the difficult goodbyes!!!!  We never get enough time!!!

JayDee,

Are you healing completely from your surgery??  Hope all is going well for you.

CrytoDad,

What a beautiful picture!!!  Since my hubby retired and we just have social security to live on, my trips to visit my kiddos have been greatly curtailed!!!  Hopefully I will get to visit my two boys this year and my two girls next year!!!

Gotta take my baby kitty to the vets this afternoon.  She has a red, swollen eye and it's not clearing up on it's own so I need to consult the professionals!!!!

Awwww! Beautiful CryptoDad! You guys are making me all teary again today LOL.

Comment by CryptoDad on June 22, 2016 at 11:40am

You think its bad now? Wait till your baby girl has a baby of her own and you get to miss your granddaughter too. Sometimes I think the only reason I'm working is to pay for CryptoMom's frequent trips across the country so she can remain sane.

Busted! Guess I'm not alone! I drove back with her to San Diego and flew home Monday. Walked her to valet early Monday and got really emotional as she pulled out of the hotel drive. Poor valet guy.  I thought geeeeez, this is as bad as when she 1st reported! Her pillow definitely had a few tear stains on it by the time I left for the airport. But I know I'm very lucky and I'm grateful every day for how close she is and how often we've been able to see her. There's talk of a 9 - 12 month deployment next year. I'm plan on making as many Cali trips as possible!

Love your guys stories. You keep me sane : )

Blondie, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who does that!  Last time my girl was home I told her not to strip her bed, that I'd do it later.  After she left I went up and took a nap in her bed.

Her best childhood friend took me to the doctor after my surgery.  When she got to the house I was upstairs so she just let herself in.  Hearing her walking through the house and talking to the dogs made me think of when they were little girls.

Hi everyone, just catching up. Had a fantastic visit with my sailor. But there's never enough time is there? We did lots of fun things but the best part was just knowing she was in the house.

Anna, Wow! I'm so happy to hear that you're safe & sound. Sounds like your guardian angels were working overtime on that one, whew! Hope the repairs are coming along but like spyder, Blondie and JayDee said, hope you're able to enjoy the time you have there.

Anna, glad you and hubby are ok. Must be a reason you are supposed to be there for awhile....relax and enjoy.
Comment by JayDee659 on June 18, 2016 at 8:35pm
Anna I'm glad you're okay! That could have been very serious! Do you realize that you're very near to my oldest daughter? You're also close to the lodge where Dirty Dancing was filmed. And there's some fabulous hiking around there. If you want to get out and about maybe my oldest can meet you.
