Yep! She is a Goldendoodle Blondie. Such a love!
Morning everyone
Excited for you JayDee - hope you find your new family member!
Blondie, let my Sailor read your polyester pants story, it gave her a good laugh, thanks !
ours temps are pretty close to yours spyder but we won't be up to 115 until Monday. P.S. did you win?
We're soaking up every minute with our Sailor. Her puppy just can't be more than a few inches away from her.
Good morning ladies, hope everyone had a good weekend. It was incredibly hot for here - around 95 yesterday. Supposed to be hot all week but fortunately it's supposed to cool down a bit on Friday. That's our Annual Admin Day at the Track so the cooler weather will be appreciated.
Blondie, I thought about you Saturday evening. My boss gave me an extremely generous gift certificate to a very nice local restaurant where I've set up some company dinners for him. It was nice to have an expensive meal on someone else's tab!
House still quiet with only 2 dogs. Chaos may resume tomorrow night as we're going to look at 3 rescues aging from 8 weeks to 2 years. Will be interesting to see who we come home with.
JayDee,
Wow!! You have had a full plate recently. Glad your foot is healing! Congratulations to your daughter!! I wish her all the best in the future!! Sorry about the doggie, I agree, now is the time to get a new puppy!!! Might be a little crazy for awhile, but when daughter takes her dog you'll still have a youngun at home with you!!! But then I'm not a dog person so what the heck do I know!!!! LOL
Oleander,
Congratulations to your daughter and her new certification!!! Enjoy your time with her in SD.
MommaK,
I was stationed in SD 100 years ago and I loved it!!!! It's still my top favorite city but I don't get to go there much. Last year my daughter had her wedding there and that was fun!! Hope your girl enjoys her time there!!
OMGoodness JayDee -- what a time you've had! Goodbyes are always so hard, hopefully you'll have a wonderful "hello" soon. Amazing how tuned in our animals are with us and each other.
Thanks Blondie, heading to SD soon. Sailor had flight deck firefighting yesterday, the whole class passed, she now has a new certification. She was pretty excited!
Have a great day everyone. Take care of that foot JayDee!
Blondie the good thing is they've been attending church together. The bad thing is my daughter says she feels weird approaching the pastor to talk about a wedding when she's only been there a few times. I've told her he'll understand that she has watch on Sundays and can't always be there. I think once she nails down the church we'll be fine. She wants to have the reception at their house. I'm just up in the air since she's not talked to the pastor yet. Ugh.
Yes, we usually overlap puppies with old dogs but that's why had had 3. The two older ones got a life re-charge when we got the last puppy and (happily) decided to stay with us a while longer than we expected. The lab we just put down really only had 3 usable legs so when his back one's gave out the only compassionate thing to do was put him down. Fortunately our vet comes to our home and the other two were witnesses and understood. The Boxer cried. I've never seen anything like it. It was touching.
Spyder the family ceremony is planned for Oct 8 as both sets of parents will be in town for graduation.
I was checking out the local animal rescue website and saw a couple of real sweeties. My husband has encouraged me to wait until the puppy departs as 3 dogs was a bit much for me (he travels 90% of the time so I'm the dog wrangler). Our Boxer is almost 13 and has several health issues. We don't expect her to be with us through the end of the year but you never know. She doesn't seem to confused by her missing comrade but she has Alzheimer's so maybe she just doesn't remember he's not there?
