Good Morning to Everyone.
Thanks everyone. I will let you know on Monday if I got the job or not. She was going to call Monday morning before all my interviews that week.
Prayers Jean!
Awww, thank you Anna. I'm collecting buckets for the future! LOL (not really laughing).
I think your point is well taken, thanks for that perspective about the crew's opinion possibly being skewed. I know she'll settle in.
Just got a call from her as I'm writing. She's definitely lonely but had a good talk w/ another DC who said she came at a very stressful time - change of command, tons of inspections, pushing to get the ship ready by Dec. Both your comment and the DC's made sense to her.
Thanks for the support and letting me vent. I'm not used to being on such uneven ground. You've helped a lot.
Jean,
Sending prayers your way!!! God knows you deserve a solid job that will last you for many years!!!!
Oleander,
Sorry she isn't getting a warm welcome from her fellow shipmates. I'm just guessing here but if two other females chose to separate cause they couldn't handle it, they could have colored the other crew members into having a negative opinion of one more female coming on board. Hopefully your girl will be able to change their opinions real fast!!! Also praying everything smooths out for her. And trust me, I cried multiple buckets the first several months of separation with Catherine - boot, A school, and then she got orders to WA and we lived in Ohio then!!!! Might as well have gone to the other side of the world!!! Then when Jennifer left for OCS I cried a few more buckets!!!! I think you have a ways to catch up!!!!!!
Thank you for the cast list Blondie!!!!
Morning everyone. Wow, love the posters, centerpieces, pictures and news since Tuesday.
Well....she's on board her ship. Must say it was pretty rough. Such a body slam of emotion rolled into her 12 days of leave. 1st she wasn't comfortable being home in civilian life, then of course she relaxed and we had a wonderful time. By yesterday morning there were lots of tears as she put on her dress whites and said goodbye. Thankfully her sponsor has been great but she said the rest of the crew has been cold and rude. It's only day 1-- I'm sure (I'm praying) it will all work out. However she learned yesterday that there are 2 girls on her ship who have purposely separated from the Navy because they "hate" this so much. That's terrifying and not an opton!!!. I reminded her that it's always tough being the new kid, now matter how old we are.
Anna - love how everything worked out for your daughter, it sounds like a perfect place. I hope all of our girls will have such luck in the future.
Don't know how all you veteran moms have made it through this so well. I cried on and off the whole 5 hour drive home yesterday. Today is better though - now I get to clean her room again. LOL
