Hello all! I just printed out gate pass. One day closer to seeing her graduate, soo very excited!!
Can someone please tell me why SR have to buy their uniforms? My daughter told me on the 9th she was broke, (even though she went in with alot of money in her bank account) because she just spent $750.00 on her khaki uniform.

mall'smom,
Time does go fast. Whenever my kids go to camp I record them, telling jokes, acting silly, saying things they would say everyday, especially "I love you". The good mornings come at 4 my time and 6 her time and so on with the good night's. It comforts me to watch the many clips whenever I miss her but it will get easier as time goes on. I felt like I could breathe after I got that first letter. I wish you and her all the best and I hope this helps.

Good morning all, Mall'smom, July 14th is a long way off. I only had three weeks from the time she told me her ship out date and the time she left! Before that I was just in denial thinking she wouldn't really go thru with it. lol Well, my case is a little different. Chrissy was 24 years old and going thru a divorce, looking for a job and the Navy promised her a career. She was living in Sacramento(an hour away form me)  and her car broke down, so I had to help her, and drove her around that last week. The hardest part was packing up the baby's things and giving him to her ex, the night before. Chrissy is 30 years old now and on her 2nd deployment, The Navy has been good for her. it was the right choice for her. The military life is not for everyone but she has done very well. I am proud of her. The best advice you can give your daughter before she leaves is that "to obey orders without question"

Ok so this mama is getting a little nervous! Not only is my daughter the last in the nest, she is graduating June 12th and heading out for basic July 14th. So things are moving very fast at least for me lol. What are some ways you guys have handled this adventure with your daughters? Be blessed!

Blondie, safe travels, know you will have fun! Give your girl and her soon to be hubby a hug for me, can't wait to see the wedding pictures!

Good Morning to Everyone

Blondie, be safe and well see ya when you get back. Praying for your safety.

Catsmom, we had 3 cats when my daughter went on deployment and they all died all while she was on deployment. She will never forgive me for it either. LOL.

We haven't had animal in the house since I lost my dog in September and it is time. Dogs are to much work for me so a cat is better.

The cat forgave me for taking it to the Vet yesterday. All it wants to do is climb on me and sit in my lap. YEA!!!!.

Jean,
that's great that she's eating, when they get hungry enough they'll eat. We just got a GS puppy and she is work! My youngest is 9 and the puppy makes her tired, lol.

Anna,
sure will keep ya'll posted. Soo very excited! if I could pack now, I would! But then I would of forgotten what I packed and would have to do it all over again, lol. Awesome to hear all your kids are in the Navy. Prayers for Jenn with her medical problems and for your deployed son. For Catherine to be sustained and for comfort in a mama's heart when missing her family.

BaileysMom, Love the picture! They are all beautiful. Praying her ax answers the phone.

Jean, so happy your kitty is feeling at home now. I have had 2 black csts. I love animals. We lost our last kitty during Crystal's deployment. I raised him from 2 weeks old.

Roliesmom, how exciting!Hugs to both of you.

Vickyrun crazy is how we roll :-)

Good News, the cat has come around and is eating like it she has not eaten forever. Just got back from the free vet visit. She is healthy and is up to date on her shots. Now I just need to give her,her flea medicine. That one is going to be fun tonight. Maybe we will wait until tomorrow. LOL. The saga begins.

Anna, my last cat was a black one also. I dearly miss him and am glad to have this one. I am also a cat person. Had a dog and they are really had to take care of. With my knees it is hard to walk it like they need and it needs more attention then a cat does.

ha ha!!!  Why do you think we all get along so well????  We're all a little crazy!!!!  Hope you have a good meeting tho!!!

roliesmom,

So good to see you here!!  Sending you a personal welcome on your profile page!!  The 29th will be here soon - - - that's my oldest son's birthday so I'd better get that card mailed!!!! I want a report back after you attend PIR to tell us how it was!!!  I love hearing from the moms after seeing their new sailor after the months separation!!!

BaileysMom,

Love that picture!!!  Her girls are so precious!!  I'm so sorry her ex is being a POS and not letting her get through to the girls.  Why are these guys like this???  I just want to bitch-slap them in the head and tell them to Grow the he## up!!  Their actions and attitudes only hurt the innocent children!!  Sorry for the rant - this applies to Catsmom's daughter and her jerkface also!!!  Ok, done now!!!  :)

My twins are turning 25 in June!!  Hard to believe they are reaching that milestone birthday.  The youngest, Catherine went into the Navy right out of high school.  Her adjustment was the hardest for me.  Her sister, Jennifer, went to college in Akron, OH and I lived with her the first year while the hubby was finishing up an contract assignment.  Then I left and went on the road with him.  After her second year at Akron, Jenn was accepted in a Navy program which paid her for her last two years of college and then she attended OCS and was commissioned in 2012.  I worried about her so much more because OCS is so much tougher than bootcamp!!!!  But she did well and is now stationed at the Tinker Air Force base in OK training to be a Flight Officer.  Currently on medical hold because of a thyroid problem and we still don't know for sure what her future holds.  Catherine got out is almost finished with her degree at Penn State using her GI bill!!!  I don't get to see any of my children as much as I'd like to.  One son is career Navy and currently on deployment again!!!  So there is my rundown!!!

Jean,

We have a black cat also!!  Will be two this spring.  I am definitely a cat person!!!!  Hope your fur friend comes around soon and finds a nice happy home with your family!!!
