For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Molly's Mom yes. Maybe I misread but I thought yiu were also wanting to know how ti find out when a ship was coming in. Rather than wait on the FRG your sailor can carefully tip you in code. Just set it up early If I misunderstood, I apologize .

Molly's Mom, before your sailor leaves make up a secret code so she can tell you. Such as your anniversary. Foe example if your anniversary is July 4 she can say "minus one, plus 10" which would be June 14.

SailorsLImom, she was probably saying "family readiness group". Unfortunately the only way to join those generally, is your sailor sending an email to the FRG asking them to add you. Are you part of the ships FB page? Maybe another mom will help you. Those dates are secret and early release or social media discussion can cause the return to be delayed and a possible punishment for whomever leaks it, and their sailor. What ship is she on? One of us here may be able to help.

How exciting for you to meet the ship. There should be information with the ships website about how to get secure information. There will be people to help if they don't have shuttles to ship area nut plan on walking from gate just in case. Good luck and have fun:).

JayDee659, love the story about your Granddog! Wow dogs are just the best, aren't they? They ALWAYS want our affection! Blondie, it IS a lot like Boot Camp, no communication. Thanks for reminding me that we survived that, though. I have mixed feelings about dogs on beds, in suitcases, etc, as well. It's the drooling etc...and the whatever...If only they were as good at packing as at unpacking! ;))

I have a question for you more experienced moms...our daughter wants us to meet her ship when it arrives in home port, but it was so hard to understand her phone call from the ship about how we might learn the (approx) date. She mumbled something about "Fleet" and "Family" but the sites I find that contain those words are about support services. Does anyone know how a family can find out a range of dates when a ship will arrive? Or, even, once we get to the base, how we find out when to get out there to cheer? Thank you!

Deployments are hard since you are back in the not knowing much and little communication!! Don't know why they don't have cell towers in the ocean!!!!!!!
I'm missing my girls now that we are back on the road, Jennifer is now an instructor at the aviation safety school in Pensacola, and Catherine is still living in Oklahoma. I am looking forward to visiting with my sister at the end of this month. Will be there for a week so I'm planning on having time hanging with her!! It's been a couple years since I've seen her!! And then I'll get to see my oldest son by Thanksgiving!!! I wish my kiddos weren't so scattered. Next year I want to get to Nevada to see middle son who was just transferred to Fallon!!! sigh - miss my kids!!!
